the protest at Billys statue was pretty tame I thought.

there were police videoing everyone and there was also a TV station interviewing fans

Never understood the chelsea aspect of the anti Bates brigade...why not "you IrishTrust Bank bastid"? Or, "you Oldham bastid"? Or "you Wigan bastid"? :duno: He has eff all to do with any of them, OR chelsea anymore.

I see that the 200 or so who started at Billy's statue had dimished to about 50, outside the W.Stand? The rest had ducked into Billys Bar on the way there!

Hearing reports that Ken was stood up and conducting the "Bates out" songs, inside the ground? :roflmao:

And afterwards, the supporters got onto the business of cheering, chanting, and singing in very fine voice, at least as it sounded on the radio. So to those who bang on about how protests only hurt the players, they are dead wrong. If not for a terrible ref and max getting sent-off, we win rather easily.

This from Facebook that hit the nail on the head about the protest....

Dave Hogarth
Of course the protest worked, it worked before it even happened, forcing Bates into a two page interview to try and explain his way out of the mess he's created with the YEP on Friday. The protest sent a message - a proportion of the fans are sick of Bates lies, sick of his non-investment, sick that the very presence of Bates means no-one else wants to get involved, and that they won't lie down and take it. Today was just the start, and a good one at that.

I think that a good point was made today...that after 75 pages and thousands of posts on the demo organisation thread on wacko, 200 max turned up!
Bates 1 - keyboard warriors 0!
Fact is the majority of Leeds fans are content to simply SUPPORT THEIR CLUB!

If we had won today would this have been as much of an issue?

Some leeds fans will never be happy until we are playing top 5 football again which is a long long way away

Today was a game of two poor teams, one awful referee and a well taken goal.

Your'e right Billy, i had a walk around the ground & would say there was a relatively small amount of protesters 150 to 200 despite all the waccoe/supposed media hype !

A bit embarrassing for the 'Bates out' movement when that old prune who invaded the pitch last season made herself the unofficial leader.

It's all a waste of breath.

The club is Bates' plaything and he's going nowhere. He has us all over a barrel - it's not like any ordinary commercial enterprise where you could take your custom elsewhere, Bates and Glazier and their ilk all know they can f*ck the supporters over to their hearts content, and we have no real sanctions.

Are any of the protestors going to abandon Leeds and support another team? Thought not.

And the old b@stard knows it, so he'll continue to refuse to invest, he'll take out of the club whatever he wants and we will swallow it.

And think on, when he does eventually die - it's his toy, who will he leave the club to in his will?

You know what really saddens me about your posts on this Twiggs is that the couple of hundred that you are happy to mock are diehard Leeds fans.

The kind of fans that would chip in so that a fan with no money could get to an important game.

You mock them yet support a person who couldn't give two short shites whether you lived or died.

Well done to the protestors today. That was a fantastic start and I hope it grows huge. I hope everyone boycotts the program to starve him of the oxygen of publicity of hit divisive puerile disingenuous diatribes of drivel.

Keep the pressure on to see if this farcical myth that no one on the planet wants to own LUFC other than this turd is in fact true.

As I walked out of the ground at full-time and went past the East Stand re-development, I consoled myself with the fact that at least that was coming along nicely. I felt heaps better for seeing that.
