i really hope that's the side he picks Joe... Who needs a holding midfielder when you've got two x 23 year old guys in there who will run up and down and work for you all day...

Also.. Clayton said in an interview recently that he and Jonny room together and theyre becomming really close mates, so you'd think they'll work together, not for their own gain (ala Neil Kilkenny)

Only problem is he also said that Michael Brown helps him a lot too, and never stops talking to him throughout the game....

I think Simon will probably go back to 4-5-1, which will be dissapointing... But as long as the back 4 is the same, and it's Keogh playing as the loan striker, i think we'll be a chance...

i dont think he will change a winning team, clayton seems to be turning into an industrious box box midfielder, interesting to see how we deal with nolan and parker

it will be tempting for him to flood the midfield, would like to see Nunez start and maybe Gradel upfront but larry wont change a winning team. POSSESION IS THE KEY WE NEED TO KEEP THE BALL

I think starting the game with the 4-5-1 is probably the smart thing to do, so long as it's the target man Keogh up front, and that back 4 is unchanged....

If we can play smart and keep possession in the first half and then bring On McCormack for Brown later on and revert to the 4-4-2, it could work perfectly.

Larry will probably change to the 4-5-1 as we are playing away v a quility midfield that includes Parker, Nolan, Taylor, Noble, Collison, etc although playing this formation doesn't always work. I remember us playing this way several times last season, Swansea tore us apart when we had five in midfield.

I always think we look a better outfit when we take the game to the opposition !

Who knows what is the best formation & team to play v the Hammers

Didnt we actually play 4-4-2 away at Swansea? Somma started next to Becchio, and there was no Bradley Johnson...

only change for me would be gradel for nunez. nunez gave the ball away too much vs codheads and isn't as useful defensively as max. stick with the 4-4-2 for me and take it to the hammers! no way that mccormack should be dropped, that would be a crap decision by the management if it happened.

Your'e right Silky, Somma did play, that one must have been 4-4-2

McCormack & Keogh are much more clever & hard-working type players than Somma will ever be !

Somma strikes as a goal-scorer & not alot to the rest of his game

Agree Idj, dropping one of our most influential players v Hull seems crazy. McCormack was MOTM for me !

finally some proper selection debates!

I think Grayson will revert to a 4-2-3-1 against West Ham, with McCormack and Nunez making way for Howson and Gradel. Seems a bit unfair after the brilliant performance against Dull but Simon's a man of habit when it comes to his first 11. I notice some advocating we drop Brown, I reckon he'll be vital against the likes of Parker and Nolan.

Would like to see Grayson rotating the wingers - Gradel running at McCartney could be very tasty!

Cannot see justification for dropping Brown. As WR said elsewhere he is doing the donkey work that does not get mentioned, but other things - like the 4th against Hull - would not happen without him.

May depend if Parker lines out against us what the MF selection will be?

I am torn between keeping a winning team (breeds confidence etc) and changing it to 'suit' the opposition.

What did we ever do when it was 12 on a Saturday from a squad total of not much more???

Whatever Larry does, it's a good dilemma to have trying to decide which class players to start. A month ago, I wasn't so confident.
