Delph, Beckford, Gradel.....

Larry has seen his best players Delph, Beckford & Gradel go under his stewardship, he also lost one of his more consistent performers from last season in Bradley Johnson.

Delph & Beckford were never replaced, be interesting to see if we sign a suitable replacement for Max

How long before our other quality players such as Howson, Snodgrass & Clayton leave for pastures new ?

Football has changed over the years, having a long term plan to build a team ready for another level is impossible as lower league clubs are vunerable to losing their best players to the top leagues in Europe

How will Grayson be feeling this morning ?

Do the optimistic fans on here still feel the same about our season's prospects now our best attacking option has departed ?

Sorry folks i cannot hide my disappointment but as they say life goes on as does football !

Think on the other side each one of those players expressed a wish to leave the club cant unsettle the dressing room further....... we wont replace max today ....

Becchio and howson talking to qpr if you believe all that aky say, if they go we will have the best groind in league one next year, others will surely follow in january as it shows an utter lack of ambition

Gradel was never going to sign a new contract, not within our salary cap, I''m very disappointed it took so long though and it leaves us making rush purchases today or dipping into the short term loan market in a couple of weeks.

the 6 p's spring to mind

Clayton and Lees look like they have the stuff to move up from the reserves, Lonergan is the equal of Schmiechal (look how long that took to get sorted especially as we had a replacement "lined up") and Keogh I like but might be gone by January...

Difficult one this Leon,as Jason said when players really want to go(Delph was more a case that we couldn't afford to honour the stupid contract he'd been given),there's not much clubs can do unless they can afford to leave them rotting on the bench,which many can't,even Man City and Arsenal have found that out recently.One thing is for sure,if you get into the prem then you have more chance of holding onto the better players.That's when the arguement of investing in a team or a ground resurface.I know which I prefer,but it's not going to happen so I am slowly and painfully accepting we are going to be in this division for another 4/5 years .

Things change so quickly in football - and memories are necessarily short.

When, in our promotion clincher, Max saw red and, well, saw red. Most on here would quite happily have formed a lynch mob.

He's a good attacker - when he can be bothered. I'm not a regular at every home game, but it is apparant that he played well when Max wanted to, not necessarily when the team wanted him to. Add to that the disciplinary record and we have lost a good squad player - but he wasn't the next Lionel Messi.

He wanted to go. If refused, that can unsettle both individual and team. If we sign someone today, great. If we don't, I'll be supporting, as usual, the 11 on the pitch and as many subs as we can manage.Oh, and the manager, natch.

We will say up and if we could put our best 11 out each week then we'd be around the top half and as we found out against Hull when Max was suspended we have a suitable attacking option but that was one game.The problem for me as been the lack of depth to the squad,looking at the bench the last few games there is no one on there that could do a job to change things if we needed it.White gets sent off and we have the worst performer of the season coming on to change the system.So unless those signings come today(which I doubt) then it will be mid table at best.

Max Gradel scored 18 goals for this club last year - 18 !! So when we bleat about " he only played when he wanted to " try find someone else to score nearly 20 goals this season ?!

I'm guessing during the last year of their contracts or when their contracts expire.

People talk about the Bate's-out protests affecting player morale, but losing our best players and not getting replacements in will be the real demoraliser. Just as we the fans want to see a progressive ambitious club, so do the players. What must they be thinking now? At best we're standing still, but it feels like we're starting to go backwards.

Well with Nunez already on 5 goals this season im sure it is possible for him to hit 18.... dont forget you cant go on a players goal haul for 1 season that means nothing paynter had 1 good season which is why we ended up signing him? I very much doubt max will hit another season like the last one with so many goals!

Clearly the guy doesnt want to be at leeds when he starts spouting rumours of interest from other clubs! Personally i dont want to pay £25-£30 a week to go watch a player who doesnt wear my team colours with pride and doesnt play with the passion i feel my club deserves!

Exactly mate, we're Leeds United and we SHOULD be wanting ambitious, cocky players. Gradel gave us the whole transfer window to prove our ambition and what did we get? Michael Brown.

Gradel, it would seem, didn't want to stay. Or, if he did, it was for more money than is affordable in the current climate.

As someone has rightly pointed out, Ramon, after 7 games, is on 5 goals. Remind me how many he scored last year?
