I'd Luke to see snoddy on the left and Nunez on the right crossing the ball in rather than cutting inside in a 442. Think Connolly at right back with lees alongside odea. Hopefully we will have a midfielder to replace the injured men too but is that wishful thinking

lees and taylor unlucky to miss out, but 2 inexperince full backs may cost us.
sam will be given chance at some point and can't be any worse than nunez last week.
this starting 11 more than good enough to beat bristol, but if not 2 quality strikers on the bench.

shows we are getting a good squad together, non starting 11

Think Sam deserves a decent chance to usurp Max's role over Nunez, and Ramon will make a better impact sub than him anyway...
Reckon it's worth Larry sticking with the defence we've had for the majority of games so far, the best defences need instinctive knowledge of positioning which can only be gained by games.
Would also like to see Snoddy dropped just to give him a boot up the arse, but can't see it happening... McCormack/Keogh move to the wing and probs Forssell starting up front.

If Bromby's fit then definitely him on the bench (I can see him being the best replacement should Kis get crocked this season) and is cover for CB and RB if either need to come off.
This new 5 subs rule is a pain though, means you can only really use one sub in each position - GK, Def, Mid, Wing, Forward... Shows that Larry's tactic of multi-positioned players (/playing out of position) is going to be useful

I'm excited about this match, probably the most confident I've been for a Leeds match this season.

Wtf are they constantly relying on Nunez? It's almost as if they make the run and bottle it near the target and pass it off to Nunez to finish.

Nunez was looking to cut inside on his stronger foot all game, this is bread and butter for the opposing side to deal with.

Who is relying on Nunez? When he starts he is a libility. Total waste of space again today I'm afraid. 4 v 5 in midfield is really 3 v 5. White given zero support as well.

Yet another poor performance overall, got off the best of starts with an early goal from Clayton & Keogh went on to miss a couple of opportunities one a real sitter, could of been 3-0 up before we allowed the 60 minutes man Killa space to hit a wonderful 'subbuteo' type goal. Once Bristol got their equaliser we lost our way yet again as they dominated large parts of a scrappy game. Snoddy missed a real sitter in the 2nd half as we desperately searched for a winner
The Kisnorbo decision worked in our favour as Bromby came on & he tossed in one of his long throws for Becchio to head onto McCormack to tap in at the far post.
Please Grayson learn from this & keep Leigh Bromby as one of our centre-backs, should have been in the first eleven once he recovered from an early season injury !

Each time that a good run was under way the players would immediately pass it out to him and he'd end up on his own with little support and end up losing it.

To be fair to him he is not a winger, unfortunately Larry persists in playing players out of position. Nunez's position is in the hole where McCormack plays atm.

Nunez needs to realise that football is a team game & not play for himself !

I was at the game today and enjoyed a lot of what I watched. It was a good 3 points from a position we'd got ourselves into and shouldn't really have been allowed to get out of - and wouldn't have against a stronger side. Fortunately Bristol looked pretty poor aside from the occasional flashes from Maynard, Adomah and the Kilkenny goal - their only two real spells of pressure were when we went a man down and then following Ross's winner in the 4 minutes added on.

Lonergan - 7 - Made good saves from a stupid O'Dea back-pass that let their striker in, and from the penalty which was badly taken to be fair. It was his bad throw-out which caused the attack resulting in Kisnorbo's tackle/red card and the pen. He also dropped a catch and Birstol had a goal disallowed in added time but I couldn't tell from the Kop if he'd been fouled. Ref said he had. Mainly solid.

Lees - 6 - Did pretty well dealing with a lot of long balls and dug in when we went down to ten-men. Doesn't look confident going forward but then again he is a centre-back learning a new position.

White - 8 - Looking better by the game as first-choice left-back. Had a pretty torrid first-half due to little support from Nunez but kept running and although he is small - he's a lot stronger than he looks. Had a great second-half showing skill, composure and sporting a Kis-headband after a nasty clash of heads that only seemed to spur him on.

O'Dea - 6 - Wins a lot of headers but consistently hoofs the ball up field and wastes possession. He got bollocked by Clayton and Snodgrass late in the first-half after kicking the ball out of play when no one was anywhere near him. Played an awful back-pass that Lonergan dealt with well. Slightly worrying.

Kisnorbo - 5 - Couldn't see the tackle properly but it looked bad and the ref didn't hesitate to dismiss him with very little complaint. His headers seem to ping off his head in all directions, even in the warm-up I saw him nut one into the fans. Still strong and great at marking his man but probably a game he would want to forget.

Nunez - 5 - Between bad decision making, non-existing tackling, poor control and greed - Nunez does look a good player. I should really give him a 4 but you have to be really s**t on champ-man 98 to get that and he did make some good runs and have some decet strikes at goal. Just wasn't working for him today, trying too hard or trying to be Max?

Howson - 6 - Overall effort was 100% but had a few dodgy moments giving the ball away cheaply and not closing down his man. He is everywhere though and he's always tracking people, sometimes two at once. Having so much experience already - you can see how aware he is. I bet he gets stuck in against the Scum.

Clayton - 8 - Wins hard tackles, wins headers, makes a lot of good passes and clearly has a left foot that can find the top-corner. Couldn't dominate as much when we went down to ten-men but stood out in the first-half big time.

Snodgrass - 6 - Had a lot of good dribbles but lacked a bit in the cross. Worked hard, especially getting back. Only had one real chance but tried to catch it with the inside of his boot at speed and lifted it over. Got subbed after the red.

Keogh - 5 - Lacked killer instinct. Had a few sights of goal and after an early miss which would have had us 2 up inside 20 mins, seemed to lose confidence and kept trying to play Ross in when he could have had a crack. Another who works hard though, wins balls and holds up the play well. The two front men move around cleverly giving options and making space - this really is the key to our season so far...

McCormack - 8 - MOTM for me. Never stopped trying to make things happen. He was unlucky the the ball didn't fall for him a few times in the first half but still forged some good attempts. In the second half he was swapped to the left wing and carried on trying, eventually grabbing the overall deserved winner (2-weeks in a row out of his favoured position) as he took a chance and chased Becchio's flick on from Bromby's Monster throw. Needs a better song for him though.

SUBS:
Bromby - 7 - Sealed the defence and set-up the winner. Not bad for 20 mins work. Should start.
Becchio - 7 - Flattened Kilkenny. Flicked on for the winner. Brought confidence.
Forsell - 6 - Tried hard but didn't see too much of the ball.

Grayson - 7 - Central Defence slightly questionable. Midfielders want the ball on the floor but see it fly over their heads Lg 1 style. Strike-force looking strong. Nunez and Lees are out of natural position. Rapid re-org when we went down to ten-men. Brave to go with two strikers also when down to ten. Good subs as always.

I've said all along I like Nuñez as an impact player.

Hopefully the likely arrival of Danny Pugh next week will see Aidy White take the left wing spot and see Il Principito used in the rôle in which I feel he is most effective.
