Great reception for Beckford today...

Shame he was taken off at half-time

i enjoyed watching a proper striker today

The Leeds fans love him as we sang "Jermaine Beckford scored a f*****g great goal in a scum s***hole" & "He's Leeds & he knows he is" finishing off with a chant of "Sign him up sign him up"

He responded as soon as the chants started with one arm aloft in the air giving it the thumbs up

followed by the Leeds salute.

Won a couple of headers & created a chance with a delightful flick on the break. Also broke with pace as he ran onto a ball just outside our box being crudely taken out by Pugh to stop his run which would have given him a one on one chance with Lonergan

Aparently he watched the second half from the LUTV studio. Cannot see him returning to ER though as i believe he is on 35/40k a week, way out of our wage structure

Massive loss to our club !

Always thought that - but I was just ridiculed about it. He also said to a fan after the game that he wouldnt score at ER unless he was wearing a Leeds shirt. Absolutely made my season that did. Next to Billy Bremner, he will be my all-time favourite Leeds player.

You are joking

i've just explained the headed balls, delightful flick & the run towards our box when he had Pugh beaten for pace. Contributed more to the Foxes game than the lump we have upfront did for Leeds !

Have to agree with riot, 64. Other than beating Pugh for pace and being taken out as u said beckford did little today. Showed good pace but not a lot more. Loved the reception he got though, and Bruce joking about swapping shirts with him-yes please!!!
Thought becchio had some uncharacteristically composed and skilful touches today, looked quite lean too. Did notice that sol bamba was controlling the midfield too and he's supposed to be a cb!!

Multi tasking mate - Becchs much better than Becks toady although the left footed scoop cos he can't shoot with his right was pure Becchs . I thought the Supremes were chanting behind me today. Usually a duo, today they had some woman from TOWIE in the choir after half time. Wobbles in from the bar and accuses me of swaying. That's women I suppose

Think JB is always likely to divide opinion. Can be lazy and seem uninterested, but then comes alive and knocks one in. Not surprised that he got a good reception today though; as the chant goes, he's Leeds and he knows he is!! Scum sh*thole and Bristol Rovers makes him a hero in my eyes, I'd have him back in the morning. Unlikely, I know, but hey, a guy can dream!

So when he has coughed up enough cash to buy 20 elephants and isnt playing well for shsiter no more?
The buzz is too much for him!

Exactly - he has never buzzed as much as he has for leeds.

Yes you were swaying and I had to sway the opposite way to see the pitch!

That's the thing, Ems. Some players just 'fit' at a certain club and never seem to replicate that form elsewhere. Maybe it was a moment in time and we look back with the old rose-tinted on, but JB was a feckin handful for any defence, in League 1 or elsewhere. Lazy get and an arrogant tw@t, but he knew where the onion bag was. Everytime Jo posts, I watch THAT goal again and he screws the ball in from a bad angle after a pish first touch without really having to look at where the goal is. Me say YES!!!
