What frightens me about the whole thing is that LUST have opened up the can of worms, and this has been picked up all over, not just in the local area, but ITN too. Now, Uncle Kuddly is nothing if not a scrapper, and if, because of all the bad press, this takeover/investment goes up the swanee, then he will be out for blood big time. We know he will do or say anything when happy, never mind when wounded, so in that case stand by for a rough ride. I don't think LUST have done anyone any favours by opening up our entrails like this.

Correct, but I think that Lust know this and woouldnt do anything to put a deal in trouble, so because that they have come out with a dig at Ken mabey the deal is already gone?

So, has anyone got any idea how this estimated 3 - 4 Million quid costs against our club affect any takeover? Can anyone tell me that Kuddly won't appeal the decision? If there had been a takeover, who would be paying for that?

We have a 25 year lease on both but at the end of that period or if we default the owner can do what they like. Thorp Arch has little use for development as it is green belt with the exception of the first team training pitch which has planning permission granted for residential development.
So when did the 25 year Lease commence? any break clauses? is it under the Landlord & Tenant Act? :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Obviously the player's 'back the LUST vision' - they want more money and personal financial gain out of their careers. It's got nothing to do with any passion for Leeds. Just like Bates they are only in it for themselves.

Or could it perhaps be that they also want security and an assurance that the club IS moving forwards - same as the fans do?
The fact they have approached the Trust is very ominous. That they are dissatisfied is very worrying.

Only if they can't get a more lucrative contract anywhere else, otherwise they couldn't give a toss about the future of Leeds.

Spot on but LUST have a different agenda to ordinary fans. Ordinary fans would not expose the club we love to excessive media scrutiny, would not encourage MPs to poke around in our business and so on. LUST do however play to the one line comedians who have no intention of investing in LUFC - a club they apparently support but use as a vehicle for laughs :duno:

I honestly see LUST as a dare I say it, BNP type movement hoping to gain some power and get paid.
You wanna check their members for political pedigree. In fact dig up what these guys have done in their time.
My GUT feeling with lust is simply a bunch of guys egging on the fears and doubts of the fans when times are not as good as they should be.

Since when did the players come to a LUST member and say "im totaly un happy" they honestly read like "what we want to hear"

I want to see players come out and say this s**t not these guys.
Sorry all LUST started of good but now im actually starting to think - is this power play?

The day they moved from paid membership to free membership was the day they moved from a proper job [albeit with little support] to a gang/petition. In short I agree with you . Does that make you a troll - the mods ain't gonna like you :roflmao:

Not sure why the intense hatred toward LUST from some quarters of Leeds supporter? The club has been sliding toward and into the shitter since Saint Voldemort took over. LUST, as the only supporter run organization with the know-how to answer the challenge from Bates, bring potential bidders/investors to the table with the club. We have no idea what else is going on with this, other than to have patience until things are resolved. LUST board clearly can't say anything due to confidentiality agreements in place. Disgruntled players come TO LUST to express their dissatisfaction about the going on's at the club for apparently a longer period of time than we ever thought. LUST release their statement expressing concern. Yet, the armchair bombers continue to castigate LUST without even knowing all the facts. Gary seems like a pretty accessible guy, wouldn't it be better to actually talk with him or some of the other LUST board members, than belittle their hard work on an internet forum?

Snodgrass said as much, Howson diplomatically said as much when he left, Ben Parker too, if I remember correctly.

I think your characterization of LUST is way out of line, but like I said previously, the LUST board seems accessible, why not address your concerns with them directly? Instead of blindly chucking rocks over the fence hoping to hit something.

I think if you remove the blinkers you'll find that it's the actions of Bates that exposes the club to excessive media scrutiny, that cause MPs to poke around into our business etc (after all, he does have history there with the House of Lords enquiry into his dealings in the Caribbean!).

His banning of certain media outlets such as The Guardian and the BBC make it inevitable that there will be scrutiny by those organisations when, for example, he issues company accounts that are obviously fictitious.

His strategy has always been to blame everyone else when things go wrong (such as Leeds Council when he reneged on his assurances that he would repurchase Thorp Arch). Sadly his disciples follow the same approach; if there are problems within the club let's blame LUST rather than the real culprits.

I can only answer for myself of course, but I do not hate LUST intensely, or at all. I am wary of them, and that is what I have seen expressed on this thread by others.

I view LUST, rightly or wrongly, as a bunch of sh** stirrers. They dig up anything and everything they can to discredit Bates and the rest of the board with little thought to the consequences for the club. I somehow doubt that players have approached LUST with their concerns. More likely is that LUST approached them and teased out the information they were after. I know some would say that the current LUST board are less militant, but the fact remains that LUST have in the past advocated some very shaky responses in their campaign to crucify Bates at any cost. It will take time for the new board to win me over with their new, seemingly more acceptable methods.

There's just something in my gut that tells me not to trust them. I cannot shake a sense of Orwell's Animal Farm...

Unlike the Chairman who digs up anything and everything about ex-directors, departing players, former managers and agents. Prints personal details in matchday programmes and makes radio boradcasts seeking for information with little thought to the consequences for the club.
