Re: RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bates has sure sucked the spirit out of a huge proportion of fans, hasn't he?
Not at all surprising. We MIGHT go down this season, but it would take a heck of a lot of things, including allthe teams below us gaining a good few more points when they have been performing as badly or worse than us. I'm not overly worried about relegation (But it's in the back of my mind), what I'm more worried about is the number of LUFC fans with their passion and love for the club that are automatically assuming the worst as instinct because of the tenure of old beardy.

Re: Re: RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're 4 points ahead of Wolves in 18th and they've played the same amount as us.Twiggster wrote:there are 12 teams below us in the league, there is no way 10 of them will all win enough matches to go past us...
From 19th to 22nd place they are all 5 points behind us, and all have a game in hand. While unlikely, if they all won their game in hand, or at least half did, then that makes them 2 points behind us on the same amount of games.
Now I do agree that the number of teams below us should keep us safe. But with 6 games left its not a certainty. If we lose our next two (Charton and Sheff Wed are below us), and the teams below us get results in their next three (I'm including their game in hand), then we could be right above the relegation zone. If a few more bad results occur we could find ourselves in the bottom three.
I'd like to say that in our remaining games we'll have enough to stay up. The next two are must wins, and the burnley game is the last I see us having enough to win. Then it's three promotion pushing teams in brum, Brighton and Watford. We need three wins, or two and a couple of draws. But I don't think that will be as easy as it sounds, unless they react well to Redders.

Re: RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think we are more likely to pick up some points against the promotion chasing teams than the less credentialled teams. Seems we do better when the expectation level isn't as high.

I think we will unconvincingly draw our way to safety. A total implosion would not surprise me though

As a fellow season-ticket holder i share your concerns mate !CSA wrote:regardless of popular opinion it is a distinct possibility, I am genuinely worried anyone else
Reasons for me fears :
1) At one stage we were 15 points clear of the bottom three, within weeks we are now 5 points off relegation zone as all the teams below us have been picking up points left, right & centre
2) We've not won a game in our last six outings
3) Won only two of our last twelve matches
4) We have won only three away games all season
5) We haven't won an away game since the 1st December at Huddersfield
6) Our home form has kept us afloat up until the last three games v three poor/average teams in Peterbro, Huddersfield & Derby
7) Scored only twelve goals in our last twelve games, an average of one per game which is not enough for a Leeds team as we generally need three to win
8) We haven't got a prolific goalscorer
9) Our centre-backs & midfielders rarely score goals
10) We haven't scored in the first half in our last twelve games
11) We concede many goals in the last ten minutes of games
12) We play with no width & have no creative midfielder
13) We have very little pace in the team infact we must be slowest & most deliberate team in the championship
14) Our players don't look fit
15) The body language of the players looks poor & the team has no resilience particularly when we lose a lead or go behind in games
If Warnock had of remained at the club for the last six games i firmly believe we wouldn't have won another game this season. We needed the change in the hope that our caretaker manager can give the players the impetus & confidence to gain us the neccessary three/four points required to secure our championship status
I now have more hope that Redfern will see us over the line....still very worrying though !

Re: RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last time Redfern managed 3.5 games I believe. Really we won one game under him and Warnock came on and turned it round in the game against Doncaster. If we need just one win then maybe we have some hope (new manager effect?). Interestingly, last time Redfern made very few changes to the team selection so maybe that's the strategy he'll take again this time....
After we lost 4-1 to Brum, Redfern became the care-taker manager and:
WON: Bristol City 0 - 3 Leeds United (Redfern made two changes to previous team)
LOST: Leeds United 1 - 2 Brighton (Redfern keeps same team)
LOST: Coventry 2 - 1 Leeds United (Again, Redfern keeps same team - Coventry had previously won only 3 of their last 19 league games, McSheffrey comes back to haunt us - one of my rare away games(!))
WON: Leeds United 3 - 2 Doncaster (2-0 down at HT, Warnock gives half-time team-talk and we score three 2nd half goals to win it)

People who are genuinely worried about relegation are just born pessimists who love looking at the shitter things in life.

Re: RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully none of us pessimists will be able to say 'I told you so.'
We are the league's worst team formwise and it is coming at a bad time. The likes of Peterborough have done the double over Cardiff (and got a very decent away point to Middlesborough last night) and Huddersfield were good enough to beat us so don't write them off from being able to get above our current points total - especially given that they play each other this Saturday so 1 of them could be 3 points better off (a win for either of them puts them just a win from going above us). Huddersfield also have to play Bristol City who do look marooned. Peterborough also play 4th bottom Sheff Wed so again there is the potential for either of those to gain 3 points.

RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankfully relegation is extremely unlikely. There are too many clubs below us who have to play each other for all of them to put together a good enough run to overtake us.
It would be stupid of us not to be looking over our shoulders though. Poor results in our next few games will make us look very vulnerable.
The boys had better do it for REDDERS or fan hysteria will hit still more intolerable levels.

Most of those teams simply need a win to go above us unless we pick up points. We should do but the last 6 games has not yielded many.yeboOAAAH wrote:

Re: RELEGATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The trouble is all the clubs below us don't need to put runs together. The fact that teams below us play each other means that there will be guaranteed points going to sides below us. If every team below us kept up their average points per games ratio then we need at least 3 points.Dr.Leeds wrote:Thankfully relegation is extremely unlikely. sacking Warnock made me slightly jumpier...sacking a manager with 6 games to go is beyond stupid.
but generally no
