The great thing with getting B McD in early is it gives him time to assess the squad. If he can get Morisson fully fit then I'm sure there are goals there. Likewise McCormack is capable of 20+. Perhaps even Somma and Poleon can be more than adequate back up. Aidy White is capable of being a decent winger and perhaps Hall. Always the potential to push Byram up to winger too (with Peltier playing right back). A lot of our players this season under performed and that for me was down to the manager.
Doesn't even need to buy in all the upgrades. 1 or 2 decent loans could be key too.

I've pretended to support a team that's been crap for most of my life as part of a long term plan

Did you post them because there's something wrong with your brain
I also think we need a central defender - for far too long this season we had a RB (Peltier) playing there and today, through circumstances, a LB in Warnock.
Even if his hand was forced by those circumstances, it was encouraging to see that he gave Drury a chance at LB. NW would probably have put Ross there.

Peltier is fine at CB..Lees is hopefully there for years and I'm not as down on Pearce as some...If he's doing alright at Ipswich I would't be averse to offering Kis another year to fill in the 4th CB role and the same applies to Bromby if he gets fit again and apparently he's doing good work with the kids.

I'd quite like to see Peltier at RB and Byram moved forward - he has the skills to be quite a midfielder.
I agree though that for a stand-in Pelts has been OK at CB. Agree that Lees and Pearce could become a good partnership, but we do need cover. CBs are always likely to pick up suspensions and/or knocks. I can't see either Kis or Bromby coming back to be honest.

On the topic of relegation, it seems almost certain that at least 1 team will be relegated with an unusually high number of points. We must make certain it is not us by picking up more points.
Equally, a low number of points might make 6th place (perhaps sub 70 pts) - such a wasted opportunity that Leeds can't take advantage of that.

As a half empty kind of person still think another win would be nice (just to be certain). A point on Tues would probably be enough though.

I would keep Samby at RB, he's got more speed for tracking back that Peltier. Pelts has shown in the LB position that he doesn't track back very well, but is fair in the CB position (as long as he has a quality partner to tell the captain what to do?). Yesterday I though Pearce was at fault for the Wendies goal.... he let the ball go over him when he could have headed it out, standard rule of defending, NEVER let the ball bounce!
I look forward to Tom Lees returning to his rightful place at the heart of things. It's a shame for Adam Drury, but Warnock (at least now there is no confusion when using that name) belongs at LB, Peltier and Pearce can fight it out for the Left CB place, and who knows what the new manager will do during the close season for new signings.
