I'm very unsure that diouff's move here is positive, and he does have an 18 months contract so be it.
Yesterday i posed three questions and have decided to answer them today one is will diouff and brian mac work ? NO.
Question 2 CAN Diouff avoid playing to opposing fans and behave? . NO again i'm afraid, AND NO. 3 will he be able to play with future leeds players that could also have very big ego's and want to really push on for the premier league ? well i'm not so sure he,ll be around the place for that time.
I think if you look at Diouf in the context of this season, then he was a good choice. Better than anybody else we could have had for a similar price, and with bates and his "war chest" we couldn't afford to be paying more. Had we not had cash injections from GFH-C, we'd likely have had an even worse squad and have been relegated.

It has been a major concern to me since his red card that it took him only 4 games after Warnock was sacked to go back to his old ways and start misbehaving again. This suggests that Warnock, despite his many faults, had a way of keeping Diouf focused entirely on the football. McDermott may not have the same relationship with Diouf, in fact I very much doubt it.

Our poor away form is down to poor tactics and mentality. Remember we had Jerome Thomas when we played Huddersfield, I think that's a bigger influence than Diouf being in the side.
From memory Thomas was subbed, injured, before Tonge scored the first goal. Hall replaced him and was the creator that day for sure. Cracking match in which lufc played at pace. Really exciting. Others can confirm - a few of us attended that game.

I believe Diouf played a key role in the home defeat to Huddersfield. You may even have been there. I think you had stopped boycotting by then.

For me the key thing with Diouf is where and how he fits into the side. As a striker it is a no go due to the sheer lack of goals. Even as a support striker he doesn't really fit the bill. While he is a good technical player his actual influence on the match hasn't been as good as it should be for a player in his position. For all Becchio's faults he scored goals - which is what a striker needs to do. Without Becchio we would have been relegated, even without him for part of the season we nearly did. Without Diouf it is harder to really say for certain but I certainly wouldn't be able to say that there is anything he did over the season that would have kept us up that would have had more of an overall impact than someone else playing in all those games instead.

As it is because he doesn't score enough people try to bracket him into being a midfielder. Again though he doesn't really fit in there. He isn't a workhorse that is going to defend and attack, he isn't a wide player that will get past players and put crosses in, he isn't even a Lampard type midfielder to score goals.

As such for me, even though I like Diouf as a player, it needs a formation to suit him. A formation built around him could work, it could also fall apart and wreck the team such is Diouf's temperament. Over to B McD to decide but if he wears the white shirt he will get my support.

4.2 (edited) million in the mail I noticed elsewhere. Was a cracking player for us. CSA and myself his only fans. If he goes to Jacks can we assume that Norwich, a club many believe to have shown more ambition than Sugar's apprentices really don't have any ambition at all or can we assume that BJ simply runs his contract's down and sells himself to better performers? In short, if they want out modern players walk. He has only 12 months left on his contract I believe.

I apologise unreservedly. BJ was the muscle in the side and had 3 fans

Your memory is crap. Thomas was subbed for Hall around the 60th minute. And don't even dare imply I didn't attend, because I did.

4. I'd be lying if I said I thought he would be a regular first team player in the Premiership though.

when we signed him I thought we'd got a player that would see us to the premiership and be capable of playing very well there...

Ross made the first 2. Hall made the second 2. Hall was the replacement for Thomas (I think) who had his most ineffective game in a Leeds shirt, clearly carrying an injury but still preferred to Diouf.

Good to know you were back in the saddle by December.

Agreed. The rumours may well be untrue but he has certainly responded well to the challenge of playing at a higher level. Good to see Snoddy going so well. Out injured now I think. Next season will be tougher for Snoddy if Norwich stay up I think as Premier League defenders realise he is a threat and why. He has done better than I expected I have to say. Howson has done no better than ok - his place was definitely at ER inspiring lufc.

I've never stopped going to games, I've only ever sympathised with those who haven't thought it was worth their time or money.

Also, Thomas might not have assisted either of the goals but his presence on the pitch had an effect, always drawing players out of position.

Also worth adding that this is the Jerome Thomas that we wouldn't have signed if bates had been in charge.

Doesn't look a good omen for 'Boro. They are shifting a lot of senior players. Either they are confident of making significant signings or they are in for a struggle next season.

Boro are nothing, average attendance of less than 17000 in a season that was looking good for them at first. They aren't exactly having that rough a time they just keep failing to deliver. Team is better than their finish suggests, post Christmas capitulation again.
