Nowadays many great candidates don't get through due to these people and I am sure that football deals that would be good for club and player fall through because it didn't suit the agent
To be sure, I'm pretty sure many footballers would struggle to negotiate for themselves too! :P
If McD has done deals this way before I'm sure it'll be fine. I like the way he conducts himself, hopefully it'll bring some dignity back to the club!

Don't really know what to make of this... Never really been very prolific, but if McD thinks he can do a job then I guess that's all we can go on. We'll end up with too many strikers at this rate (unless Morisson/McCormack are on the way out...).

Steve Lomas pretty much confirmed today that leeds are about to tie it up

Maybe Lomas was trying to sign Hunt?

Unless Ross might be playing in another position under Dermers? Have to say, we have a group of strikers who will alot to prove the coming season. Ross underachieved, Morison didn't even make it to the underachiever level, new-boy Smith stepping up to a big club.... Poleon trying to make the first team, Varney - 'nuff sed...... you get the picture.

Hearts have placed their entire first team on the transfer list,

i always liked the look of Andy Driver, hes your typical out and out winger gets to the byline and puts the crosses in.

Noticed this today, though don't know enough about the team to really judge any of the players... Driver had a decent record on loan in the MLS last season though; 11 apps, 3 goals.

Yeah, I suppose both Ross and Varney can play wide if necessary. Agree that there's going to be a lot of competition. Reckon Morisson could be on the way out if anyone...

Not sure about Morison, we definitely didnt see the best of him, he wasnt fit at all last season. When fit, he can be a massive handful, proved that at Millwall. I think with the right guy at the top, and a decent fitness plan I think we've got a good player there. McDermott has always preferred a big man, little man forward pairing, so Noel Hunt coming in would fit the plan along with Matt Smith, we've then got a mix of 2 big lads up top and Ross, Noel, Reg, Poleon to choose from to pair them with...

Either way, theyve all got lots to prove, which hopefully will work in our favour. I think we've still got plenty of business to do before the season starts, a couple of flying wingers & a real playmaking midfielder would be my preferred signings. Either way, for a change, with McDermott in charge im really looking forward for this season to start... Something Ive not felt for a while tbh...

Maybe trying to say Lomas is a bit of a hunt?

 to Andy Driver - does what a winger should, but I would really live to see Paddy McCourt at ER.
Beware the fury of a patient man - John Dryden.

Ross insists he is a striker, yet he doesn't score enough goals. People can defend him in saying he hasn't had the service, but we all know what Becchio did last season.

He is a good player and definitely has some skills. I could possibly see him being converted into a central attacking player.

Look back at my posts leading up to last season & he was a bench player for me

He may insist he is a striker - he isn't....not prolific enough !

Thinks he's good enough for the prem - no way

Thought Redfern was the right man to manage Leeds so he could have an easy ride

Overrated by our fans - Yes !

Talks a good game. on Twitter

I think he has value. I also think he could do a job in the team, however he would need to change the way he plays. Not easy for some players to do.

As you stated he isn't prolific enough to be up front, but unlike you I do think he does have the necessary skills to be in the fist team. He has great control, gets himself out of difficult situations and can make a decent pass.

This leads me to a central attacking role behind the front line. Will be dependant on what is bought during the summer.

Posh Director of Football Barry Fry, the man in charge of transfer negotiations at London Road, said: “I’ve had Brian McDermott (Leeds manager) on the phone about Tommy and I’ve also spoken to their chairman Ken Bates and their chief executive Shaun Harvey, but Leeds just don’t have enough money.

“We’re sorry to be losing Tommy, but he’s made it clear to us that we could offer him £20,000 per week and he still wouldn’t sign a new deal.

“That’s not to say he won’t be here next season because we won’t give him away. And if Tommy is here we know we will continue to get 100 per cent from him as he’s a terrific lad.”

Fry insists he hasn’t given up on signing Gillingham midfielder Jack Payne on a permanent transfer, although he admits little progress has been made since Gills chairman Paul Scally turned down a ‘two-player-plus-cash’ offer from Posh.
Worrying that Ken Bates is still walking around as Chairman...

I'm am far from Ross' biggest fan - he needs the team to play in a particular way I always think - BM may play to his strengths who knows. Despite injuries and following Becchio's defection though he was by far the best player in our front 6. Played right he will score goals. Played right he will also excite the crowd. It's often the case that talented players take stick for not being even more talented whereas average players are given excessive credit for being average. At the present time Ross is our finest attacking player and a cut above any other front 6 player on the books.

Is Ross capable of scoring 20 plus goals? Answer is a definite yes. Are 20+ strikers easy to find. Answer is a definite no.

Our week link is total lack of pace/urgency. Ross meets the urgency criteria and is no slouch. No other front 6 player does. If I was a manager I would spend my time improving the other 5 not selling the best of the 6. Gotta be easier, cheaper, more sensible.

Just come across the Peterborough article also, not only are we skint apparently but we also still have bates's cloud over us.
I wonder if the odds on us to get relegated are attractive enough, might cushion the blow.
Mind MCD cant possibly be as clueless as Warnock so there is hope, just not a lot of it.

Wouldn't take anything Barry Fry has to say as gospel. Blokes a bag of wind. Bates has an end date on his chairmanship contract. We haven't reached it yet I guess. Fry is talking up the price. Simple as that.

Maybe the way to go

Couldn't hit a barn door at times last season, maybe it was a confidence thing !
