Not huge, dezzy, but probably similar to what Kenny's getting. To be honest, there are more important areas of the team/squad need strengthening, I personally think we're alright on the keeper frontdezzy wrote:Kenny isn't a bad keeper, but I think we need a good keeper, federici wouldn't be on as much as kenny, reading wouldn't have paid huge wages

I think there will be at least 3 signings within the first couple of days of July.

Am saying nothing for 2 weeks then 3 all at once. 3 good ones too, not some random nobodies like the usual transfer windows.
What kind of music do you usually have here?
Oh, we got both kinds. Country....and Western.

I think we know what Larry was looking at, but it wasn't football related.1964white wrote:

Was looking at Uncle "Scrooge" Bates giving him pocket change to try and buy prem-quality players. How in the hell do you think the likes of Paul Connolly and Paul Rachubka ended up here?1964white wrote:

Re: summer of 2013 - transfer rumour thread
Our better signings over the past few years have been the unheard of nobodies. The RAC man, the scottish drunk, the Leicester City reserve winger & the unknown argie from the third tier of spanish football. It has generally been the players we have heard of that have been sh*t as generally the only reason they are coming to us is because they are no longer good enough to play for anyone better.
Sure yeah we have also gotten a few duff unknown players but at the end of the days every one of these signings is a gamble and only some are gonna pay off.

Scouting!
Connolly was excellent until injured.
Rachubka was Graysons first choice keeper at Blackpool. Nowt to do with Bates or money - during Bates' time at ER we have had some of the best keepers in the league(s). Our current keeper did well in the Prem I believe, no one, not even the chairman everyone wants at ER ( whoever that may be) spends big money on a keeper for the bench.
Returns to parallel universe where reality reigns.

Aye. Just FOUR decent players, out of how many 100's he has acquired for us in his tenure as Chief Scout?Dr.Leeds wrote:

Actually, I believe Grayson used his crisps connections to get Maxie here.
