They get things done quickly, don't they? I'm sure this will free up more money (plenty of staff there). Shame for Thom Kirwin though, hope he gets kept on in some capacity, maybe he could start on Radio Leeds?

Puts an end to the debate over which channel we'll stream in VLR though...

Blimey! I did wonder if it would be kept on if it was making the losses that people said it was.

This is a proper business decision - tough, but for the best of the club.

I reckon Thom (and others?) will be moved into LUTV.

Not sure I would say " I like it " though......results in a number of good people who have sadly been made redundant.
Thom Kirwan and Michael Weadock in particular have been very good I say. Feel for those guys.....hope BBC Radio Leeds pick up Kirwan, proper Leeds fan, unlike Adam Pope.

I do feel for Thom, he is a really nice bloke in person as well. But I'd rather he wasn't on BBC Leeds.

I like Thom, shame really.

That said it is a good business decision, the station lost money and lets be honest no one listened to it on non match days. Except for BB which is why she won all the competitions. Commentary back on Radio Leeds is great, no need for this station now.

Well they cut that close with the regular season starting soon. Really enjoyed Thom and Eddie over the years, as they became my Saturday morning companions in all-things LUFC. Even Weadock and the rest of the staff will be missed. I applaud the business decision, but mourn the loss of the station as the staff really whipped it and the website into something decent concerning Leeds United. VLR will be very strange now without YR.

I agree it probably has been on the cards for a while, but 6pm on a Tuesday is an odd time to cease in that case. End of the week (or maybe even end of the month i.e. tomorrow) might have made more sense.

No great loss.......apart from some games I couldn't make I rarely listened to YR
