A mouth-watering Yorkshire derby in prospect as we host the Owls this Saturday with an early kick-off time of 12.15pm. I shall have to be sharpish once i've showered & eaten my breakfast
More importantly will McDermott ring any changes to the first eleven that started at Leicester....i don't think he will tbh
Unfortunately i suspect the TV camera's will pan onto many empty blue seats....another consequence of this fixture is one particular song will dominate the proceedings & overshadow our magnificent array of proper Leeds songs

I expect same starting 11 as for Leicester, but wish for Poleon - maybe McDermott will be more attack minded for this one? (I get the impression he favours Hunt and Varney for their discipline without the ball).
After years of searching we have at long last found a manager who starts with the intention of not getting beat (the core of every great side - check scums goals against for instance). It's not pretty but it is effective (did Reading excite?).Tons of games are won late on when something pops and goals arrive. Critical to this is fitness and great organisation (zero tolerance of mistakes- most goals involve error rather than quality I reckon).You do not need money to win games (hello George). You probably need money to play exciting, winning football. Foxes was poor to watch (on telly at least - no atmosphere on telly and no shots on the pitch) but it was effective. A good point.

Indeed so i would hope to win this one and give everyone something to think about even after a few games.
I suppose on the strength of it very winnable game this is for me anyway.
Selection again will be interesting and probably no big shocks certainly ,but i would drop Green possibly push Hunt back and of course start Poleon.
The Varney thing is tricky because of his target man thing but i,d start Ross and Poleon that would give Tongue a another crack in midfield me think anyway.

I think Varney and Hunt are doing a good job at the moment as starters. Poleon had a start in the cup and despite his goal, didn't exactly tear our league 2 opposition apart. He and Smith have been really effective coming off the bench vs. tiring defenders so I reckon the forwards will probably be the same.
Green probably deserves to be dropped after his performance on Sunday, but he's at least energetic unlike any of his possible replacements!
I expect a win and hopefully a few goals. Clean sheets are the holy grail though, as Riot says. Can't lose if you don't concede!
Same starting 11, probably the same subs deployed as the game goes on. Like the fact that BMD uses subs wisely from round about the hour mark, unlike Colin who either threw all three on at the start of the second half, or one in the 90th minute!
