Totally agree, I just think leeds fans are hard to win over as were so used to being screwed over again! But think cellino is the man!Norm wrote:It's the first time I've looked at this thread for a little while.
I had to pinch myself after reading some of the previous pages.
Am I the only one a little unnerved by some of the rumoured (hell, more than rumoured to read it) influx of quality players.
I suppose after years of austerity, crap ownership and even crappier management (the promotion from L1 being the exception of course) our expectations have been somewhat neutered. After our 3 good signings last week I never expected more, but on he goes and surprises us again. I hope not to hear anyone else bleat about him not putting his money where his mouth is. The man's obviously respected throughout much of the football world and not just for his money. I suspect he's liked by the professionals and can only thank providence for MC's interest in us. I think he really wants to awake the sleeping giant! He's nobody's fool and he has ambition for Leeds and, by extension, for us.

Yeah your 100% correct, 2 weeks ago I was critical of the man wondering where these so called signings were coming but since I said that there has been like 5 signings, so I take it all back and I'm finally starting to feel very optimistic about the season aheaddezzy wrote: Totally agree, I just think leeds fans are hard to win over as were so used to being screwed over again! Re: Summer Transfer Rumours
Some reaction to Adyran possible link-up from LUA Facebook group....
Giovanni Sanfilippo I support Flamengo and Leeds. I've never seen him play 1% of what Zico has played, but I guess it's because he was brought to the first team in a moment of great pressure. Flamengo needed anyone who could make good plays and goal opportunities. He failed in those aspects, but just because he was 16 ou 17 among professionals who were clueless of what to do with a football. Then everything was on his back and he collapsed. I think he'll do well at Leeds, but I'm afraid you get TOO excited on him just because he develops into a top player in FIFA and turns out he is just a little better than our current players at the most.
João Brizzi He moved up to Flamengo's 1st team just because Flamengo has been shite for the past 4 years. People would say he was going to be the next Zico, but at his best he was never any good.
I support Ponte Preta, a 2nd tier team, and our board broke down a move for him because the supporters didn't want him at all. He went on to play for Cagliari just because he's got someone really good taking care of his career.

João Brizzi Flamengo's Thorp Arch is called Gavea. Around there, his nickname is "Gavea's Stifler". Just figure it out. A football player most remembered for acting as an American Pie's character.
When asked if they thought he was good enough for the English Championship?
Mauro Alexandre Araujo Kraismann No, he's not even good for Brazilian Second Division or Calcio Serie B. He has a very good manager, just that.
So some insight on this lad. Still if he wasn't that good, can't see Cellino sniffing around in the least bit. Mileage may vary.

Leeds, whose striker Matt Smith signed a new three-year deal on Monday, are now focusing on sealing a double swoop for Brazilian midfielder Adryan and striker Mirco Antenucci with their recruitment set to head into overdrive ahead of the September 1 deadline.

As you say, I doubt Cellino would want him if he was as rubbish as a couple of those people are saying. He saw enough in him to bring him to Caligiari and presumably saw enough there to want him here.Crude wrote:Some reaction to Adyran possible link-up from LUA Facebook group....

Does sound a little bit like Aidy white though, brought into the first team young when the club were in desperate need, but then not necessarily progressed much. We'll see I suppose!

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours
ill pass judgement once i see him play in white for LUFC (if that happens)
I cant imagine Cellinio going for a player that is as rubbish as they are making him out to be, im also curious to see how he would fit into our team because at the moment not even Benedicic is getting into the squad and he was supposed to be a talented player.

Something i saw this morning that actually shocked me alittle bit. Is that we have released (12) more senior players than we have signed (10). Glad there are still a few more names being linked too.

Good to see these views Crude. Although, it is a tad suspicious that the guy just happens to support Flamengo and Leeds eh?Crude wrote:Some reaction to Adyran possible link-up from LUA Facebook group....

No idea how he will fair in the Championship. It's a different ball game (figuratively speaking) to the Brazilian style. We also need to ground ourselves with the Scum/Barcelona links to this guy, there might well be a reason they stopped at being linked, and why has no other team decided to take the gamble. Of course you can balance it with the fact that other unwanted players (Gradel, McCormack) have came in and shone. The brazilian national team in itself was quite odd, electing to pick Willian above Coutinho for example, and the results showed that.
I like the signings that slip under the radar, the quiet ones that happen quickly and with little hype. The signing of Adryan has already been named a coup for Leeds in papers... players that are built up have more to live up to.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours
Oddly enough, he played in the Champions League last night, for AAB. Very good playmaker, hard tackler and highly rated over here. Despite his name, he isn't slow!
Sloth is actually Mrs Twiggster's maiden name....so opposition players will get nagged off the ball, if we sign him

But if he's already cup tied for the Champions' League what's the point in us signing him? :mrgreen:Twiggster wrote:

Not all of it. I do so hope you can forgive me.
And yes, I AM taking the pish because of his name. There was a guy who worked at the Whitehouse once called Randy Bumgardner... Your position in life does not exclude you from humour.
