Tough call for Redfern with team selection especially after our 2nd half performance at the Stadium of Light although Redders team selection has become predictable away from the cup match

Yes i know i have constantly moaned about Murphy & Austin but i feel they deserve another chance after the Sunderland game, we need to bolster the midfield with more strength & height although i wouldn't be surprised if both play like a couple of turkeys come Saturday

Genuine question to those who see the team a lot - is Adryan really good enough to play up front in a 4-4-2? He seems to bottle it when he gets a sight of goal, whether by ducking out of headers or duffing his shots

Tbh i would play Adryan just behind Antenucci as he has a bit of pace & likes to run at defenders
Adryan may be the answer to our wide left or indeed right side.To me preferable the former.
As I still would have Sam right side midfield.
Adryan does look to beat his man.And I'm sure knows to cross a decent ball.

I'm torn between Bianchi/Murphy/Bellusci for the second holding role. Basically, if Byram goes forward Cooper goes out to the right and Bianchi provides support to Del Fabro in central defence. Same for Del Fabro covering Warnock.
Basically emulate Chelsea/Man City. These players are more than capable in skills required for the tactics in these positions. Question mark over Del Fabro but he deserves a shot (always been a believer of giving people a run in the team when they take chances) and I think Sloth and Murphy should be on the bench ready for a shot.

I'd feel more comfortable with this formation if we played a goalkeeper.

I'm that confident with these tactics our goalkeeper won't be needed. We'll play with 10 outfield men and when we get two or three goals up we will bring on Morrison to even the game out.

I will never have Austin in any team I would select. He's had his chance and now it's time to move on. We don't have wingers but we do have wing backs. We are away and we are on terrible run. A valiant mid week cup game with a good second half performance, that we lost, doesn't change a thing for me but I am glad some new players emerged.

I agree with you wholeheartedly even though I had a brain seizure including Austin in my team. I'm his biggest critic, he has had so many chances. I'll be glad when we replace Rudi with a proper holding midfielder. He'd look great playing in League 1 or 2

Like Mango says, some of those players took their chance against Sunderland and so deserve a run. Murphy just misses out with Cook and Mowatt returning. Most important thing is for the wide midfielders to cover for the full-backs and help them with defensive duties when needed.
Doukara and Montenegro are suitable fits for out wide, and Sharp could replace Antenucci down the middle.
Interesting that Warnock, who as been touted by many as player of the season so far, as for this game been replaced by the majority by a potentially good player with one full first team game this season.

Even with a speedy recovery, I doubt he'll be there for Bolton. I, and I assume many others, would put Warnock straight in if he was fully fit.
