Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
Cooks a wanted man apparently he's the next Scholes, Liverpool, Scum, Villa, Arsenal all considering bids, but we should really worry as Newcastle are preparing a bid according to the papers, because of cause he's going to move to that stable, quiet family club

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
I personally think Redders' fate will be crucial to our hopes of holding onto our younger players. If he, as their mentor and father-figure, goes then I can see these lads thinking their development will be better served elsewhere. If he stays, then the hope is he can convince them to give us at least another season. My own view is that none of them, bar maybe Byram, is ready for the Prem, anyway. And certainly not at sh*te clubs like Villa or Newcastle. If MC sanctions our kids being sold, then he will lose whatever faith and trust he retains amongst the fanbase.

How do you mean sanctions ? Do you mean if he oversees a determined sale of our youngsters or do you mean he doesn't stand in their way if they get an offer to advance their career with a better team and we get good compensation ?

Redfern is gonna have to up his game if he wishes to continue managing LUFC after the last few performances i've witnessed. I came away from ER yesterday feeling cheated as the lack of endeavour, quality & general play was unacceptable.lufc1304 wrote:I personally think Redders' fate will be crucial to our hopes of holding onto our younger players. There is no need to play 30% of his players out of their natural position. Warnock, Grayson & McDermott were guilty of the same trait & consequently lost their jobs, his tactics clearly hasn't worked over the last seven games where we have mustered only four points playing some of the drabbest football i've seen, certainly comparable with last season fiasco !

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
Sorry, faaip, I should have been more specific, the former. I'm enough of a realist to know that we can't afford to turn down silly money for any of our players, but I worry that MC will see the young players as 'not his' and cash in. My own view is that we should be tying them down to long contracts and building a side around these kids. MC will do what he likes, and maybe these lads will have their heads turned, but losing this crop will be a serious kick in the teethfaaip wrote:

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
I won't argue with you, Leon, but it's no coincidence that losing his right-hand man has led to a series of poor performances. I'm not suggesting they were the next Clough and Taylor, but there's no denying their synergy worked. As for playing players out of position; he sees them in training everyday, maybe those players playing out of position offer more than any 'naturals' we have in the squad. Who knows? Damp squib end to the season, for sure, and a journey into the unknown with the return of the lunatic!1964white wrote:

You are bang on, the unnecessary break-up of Redders/Thompson has affected our form big-time which causes me such concerne whether Redfern is upto the job. I sincerely hope he is the man to take us up to the next level which is the play-offs imo but right now i'm unconvinced

A winger or 2 a proper centre forward, sol Bamba, and a leader in midfield to help the young players, I'd like to see the back of the sulking 6 aidy white austin Morison

I agree with the sulking 6, White and Morison but Austin has a certain something, adds a different dimension, he can stay.joelufc20 wrote:A winger or 2 a proper centre forward, sol Bamba, and a leader in midfield to help the young players, I'd like to see the back of the sulking 6 aidy white austin Morison
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
Can't see why people are still having a go at the 6. Yes 3 may have been dubious injuries but nothing apart from press bullsh*t to drag the other 3, Silvestre, Antenucci and Bellusci, into it. Those 3 have all had decent seasons, Silvestre arguably player of the season, Antenucci top scorer despite probably starting less games than Morisson, and Bellusci forming a decent partnerships with Bamba.
Let's get rid of our best players just cos their foreign. Let's have a go at Cellino too cos he hasn't got everything right this season. Jeez marching on together when it suits.

The rumour mill appears to be everything...losing Silvestri will hurt he's the best keeper in the division and only going to get better...

I heard these adverse comments evey week :weasel wrote:Can't see why people are still having a go at the 6. "Get rid of the Italians" __________hatred almost to a racist degree
"Silvestri is a liability"____________has saved us countless times this season
"Belussci is a mistake waiting to happen"____all our players make errors every game
"Antenucci is nowhere as good as McCormack & Smith"_____unfair comparison to Ross.....the Ant is a different type of to Smith
Our football was much better when the above three were playing, over the last seven games we resorted to playing hoof/headball/mis-kicks with a distinct lack of quality all over the park !

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
I think the summer is more about keeping what we have than bringing in a mass of players.
There are a couple of areas which clearly need strengthening - striker, wingers, CB and maybe a midfielder (to replace Austin if he doesn't get another contract). But the kids are key, lets hope Massimo can see that too.

Think he's a winger, so is an interesting prospect. No doubt a certain section of our fans will be frothing at the mouth about having another Brazilian on the booksRatscoot wrote:http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/05/ ... d-midfiel/?
Sorry it's a 16 year old current on trial but he's already making a splash in the under 21s
Scored for the u-17s too.
A bit more info here: http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/leeds- ... r-ronaldo/ (he's Portugese).

Wasn't he opposed to having a D O F bought in, which is why he's leaving? If he doesn't like interference then Leeds will be the last place he'll come to, don't think he'll be short of options. Martin Allen was named at the end of the article, that's more likely the calibre we'll end up with.
