Re: TOMA: Radrizzani closes in on 50% deal
Isn't there a case that we could be promoted with Cellino/Monk in charge ?
We don't know what Radrizzani is all about, he could be just another mad Italian, better the devil you know & all that ?
Cellino got it right in the end employing Monk, backed his manager & allowed GM to get on with the job as MC appears to have taken a back seat
Our situation now is the best position we've ever been in over the last twelve years so any changes now could have the reversal effect & dismantle all this seasons good work
Just asking the question ?

You are correct Leon, we could be promoted with MC/Monk in charge and that would fulfil MC's promises. It could also be a house of cards and we'll still be where we are now.1964white wrote:

My only thing is, does he have the financial ability and willingness to fund our anticipated January window needs (striker/goalkeeper???), new and vastly improved contract for Monk, etc.
I suppose I'm being over-emotional about the potential for the future and the prospect of it slipping away. I'll calm down in a minute.

From what I gather reading different forums is that story originates from Jason Brown, the infamous gob shite that spouts the clubs diatribe when required. He likes to tell folk he's MC's personal body guard but he's been outed as a purple bibbed steward.Ratscoot wrote:Massimo apparently now only wants to sell 48% which is causing a problem

Not like our own fans to start speculation etc to the detriment of the club....flatpack wrote:From what I gather reading different forums is that story originates from Jason Brown, the infamous gob shite that spouts the clubs diatribe when required. Re: TOMA: Radrizzani closes in on 50% deal
I have few doubts that Cellino hasn't been pulling the strings the past few months anyway. He usually can't help opening his trap at any given moment and embarrassing himself/the club/us. His silence in recent weeks speaks volumes (he's under an NDA in my opinion). I would say that at least 50% of the club is about to go to Radz and that, at the end of the season MC will be gone for one of two possible set fees, dependent on whether we're in the PL or still in the Championship.
This, in my opinion, is a good thing as long as Monk is not replaced and there is limited disruption on the pitch (aside from some good player investment next month) but, I think that had Cellino been pulling the strings this season then Monk would have gone after the poor run in the opening weeks of the season anyway, so Monk seems to be well supported.

Backing Monk is key to any future success no matter who owns us. Re: TOMA: Radrizzani closes in on 50% deal
Heard some very good things about Radrizzani and from what I have read he looks like a much better option than Cellino. Of course there is always the risk it could go wrong. However, in my honest opinion I don't think we will reach our potential with Cellino.1964white wrote:

Cellino has been lucky this season imo if Cellino's first 2 choices Karl Robinson or Darrell Clarke had accepted the Leeds job we almost certainly wouldn't be 4th in the league imo.
Our success this season is 100% down to Garry Monk in my opinion mate, we appear to have spent the Lewis Cook money really well, if Garry had been able to spend the Sam Byram money as well I honestly think we would be in the top 2. Norwich, Newcastle and Villa spent more on one player than we did in total this season, I don't expect us to spend the amounts Villa and Newcastle spend, however, we still have a net spend on transfers of minus £3 million under Cellino according to transfermarkt.
The last 2 weeks and Saturday showed to me how big a club we are in terms of fanbase and how big a club we can still become, Leeds is a one club city in the 3rd biggest city in the UK the potential really is there.
I want Leeds to become the next Southampton by: Rebuilding the west stand, bringing back Redders to the academy to keep finding the next Charlie Taylor etc over the last 10-12 years we have just never felt like a big club.
I would happily take the risk with Radrizzani if it gives us the chance of becoming a big club again.

Re: TOMA: Radrizzani closes in on 50% deal
The main difference we have is that under the financial fair play rule we are fairly much screwed. A rich owner cannot simply throw money at he club and buy the best players. Newcastle, Norwich and Villa don't have that concern as they have the income from the parachute payments plus decent players that they could sell for decent money to bring in replacements. Leeds may have a net spend of £3m according to transfermarket (although wouldn't exactly take their word as gospel) but that is without factoring in wages or paying clubs to loan their players. With a huge chunk of gate receipts going towards the rent of ER and TA we are worse off than most of the clubs in the division and not able to compete with them as financial fair play means clubs can only spend their income and a lot of ours goes on the rent.Gary Shaw wrote:Heard some very good things about Radrizzani and from what I have read he looks like a much better option than Cellino. Obviously if the club does well then more fans turn up meaning more income and more money then becomes available to spend on better players, however it is the catch 22 that usually you need better players to do well etc. If however we don't get out of the league this season then realistically our best hope is if our owner, be it Cellino or Radrizzani, is to buy the stadium and TA back, freeing up a large percentage of our income. We would also need to cash in on our best 2 or 3 players and invest the money wisely. That is a sad reality.

Now Phil Hay is reporting a 51% deal with Cellino keeping 49%.

Apparently approved by FL as reported by Simon O'Rourke on the twitter machine....
#LUFC will have a new majority investor in the next few days with a view to 100% ownership in 2017. Andrea Radrizzani given @EFL approval.

And words of caution from from LUST Chair Gary Cooper....
Hate to be the bringer of caution but AR is MCs choice. MC was GFHs choice #just saying

If AR is as much an improvement over MC as MC was over GFH I will be very, very happy.Crude wrote:

Fingers crossed he's happy to let things ride but new chairmen usually like to do things their own way. It'll only take a couple of high priced acquisitions to rock this boat
