Saw this late last night on Twitter. As someone said on there, a gent off the pitch and a class act on it. They don't make 'em like Paul anymore, mores the pity. RIP

R I P to another of our real legends. Unlike today's ' shirt kissing one minute, I am leaving the next ' so called stars, a man who truly did love the club and didnt care that he could have probably earnt much more money elsewhere ! Leeds United was always in he's heart and for that he will always be in ours !

A very classy player, yet couldn't hold down a regular place in the great Leeds side.

A little known fact - the great Leeds team of Sprake, Reaney, Cooper, Bremner, Charlton, Hunter, Lorimer, Clarke, Jones, Giles, Gray only played together once (in an FA Cup tie against Mansfield in 1970). Madeley was the man who came in when one was injured. So he did have a regular place, you just never knew which position he would be playing in.

Staggering that isn't really, that he could fill so many different positions - must have been so invaluable when there was was a lack of substitutes in the game.
Didn't realise that dream team XI stat - again unbelievable to think for all those years together, it happened only on one occasion.

Would play wherever asked, would give his all for the team whatever was asked of him.

No ego, no pride standing in the way of what was best for the team.

It was that attitude - and Madeley was far from alone on that squad - that made me a Leeds fan for life. The man oozed class from every pore.

Over 500 game's for the whites says it all.
Unbelievable fact that.. I'd have never guessed.
