Certainly has Adam. Couldn't have gone any better really. I could be greedy and say I wish we'd scored more goals but after how I felt at half time I'm feeling ecstatic right nowYorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 5:03 pm What started off potentially being a rubbish afternoon has turned out to be a pretty good one

Imagine if we can produce our Derby form and beat Norwich and then Boro in successive matches

Without being a negative Nelly, we play like that 1st half vs Norwich then we will get stuffed.

My feeling as well. Leeds need another 'Derby' performance next week otherwise I fear the worst based on recent performances.Cjay wrote:Without being a negative Nelly, we play like that 1st half vs Norwich then we will get stuffed.

Those were man hugs and a half. Aren't men supposed to give a little
half second hug and then split. It looked like Marcello did not want to
let go. It must have been some cathartic relief. He did it with one of his
staff, but it was not enough to stoke up his emotional tank so he gives
it another go with someone else, and only after being fully charged
does he go and shake hands the the opposition manager.

With the exception of West Brom, we tend to play better with teams who bring the game to us. A lot more space for us to exploit.
When teams sit back with men behind the ball we struggle to break them down and provide Roofe with decent chances.

Norwich totally different kettle of fish they won't sit 11 behind the ball. Win or bust for them so I expect a good game making it easier for us

Hopefully we will also have a settled back 4 etc again soon and have less of the round pegs. Would be good to have some more game changers on the bench too, having the likes of Brown and Bamford to bring on could be huge.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 5:26 pm With the exception of West Brom, we tend to play better with teams who bring the game to us. I had to stop watching the stream in the 83rd minute and drop my daughter off at a friend's.
I nearly crashed the car when Five Live said we had won.
Get in....great day in the end.

Re: Rotherham Utd v Leeds Utd Match Thread
Casilla . .8 . Made a great save after Phillips gave the ball away, against a giant team we conceded no set piece goals, he deserves credit for that to, caught the ball, punched the ball, very assured performance.
Ayling- 5. . I dunno what to say, he didnt do anything majorly wrong but had no real impact really either way imo, passing is league 2 level at best.
Cooper-7 . .Defended reasonably well, was easily beaten in the air by Smith to often but he defended solidly overall.
Philips-4. Played a great pass, tried his best, not a cb, never will be a cb, it was him giving the ball away that lead to the worldy save from Casilla, and careless freekicks given away to often to.
Ali-6 . .Not at his best but more use then Ayling down the right, defended quite well,.
Forshaw- 5 . Didnt really do much of note at all, and when a player strolls through the centre of the pitch and shoots from 25yards then as a holding midfielder you havent done your job.
Klich- 9 . Awful 1st half, so much more influential 2nd half where he got forward more, made more of those intelligent runs, and of course scored both goals.
Hernandez- 6.5 . .He tried to make things happen, thought Rotherham did handle him quite well, but he got his assist.
Clarke-4 . Its a shame, he hardly had any impact at all, but he only touched the ball 17 times, thats not entirely his fault of course, handled well.
Harrison-8. .Best game for some time, was a constant menace down the flanks, created chances, got an assist, lets hope this wasnt another once in a blue moon game as i suspect he will start next week.
Roofe-5.5 . Not really his day again, isolated 1st half, had a few half chances but couldnt hit the target, hold up play wasnt great today, easily pushed of it, must do more.
Roberts- 6 . .Brought a spark that we had been lacking, took up good positions, got closer to Roofe so it atleast gave Roofe some support and the Rotherham defence someone to think about, although in the end he didnt create anything of note or have a shot so marked down for that.
Hard fought that, made real heavy work of that, 1st half again was far from good enough, thats a real concern, but did well 2nd half, showed character and fight, ome positives, the win of course, Roberts making a difference, Klich finding his shooting boots again, Casilla looking solid, Harrison having his best game for a while.
SOme concerns of course, the 1st half as a whole, Phillips at cb clearly doesnt work, Smith dominated aerially as expected, on another day that could have caused more worries then it did in the end.

Roberts made a difference today but there were no more potential game changers on the bench.
Bamford and Brown give us two very good options to change things as a minimum.

Klich was nowhere first half, not enough space to operate.
One of Harrisons best games.

Casilla looks like an improvement on BPF but a couple of times in his haste to command his area came running out like a headless chicken and got no where near the ball .Thought he was going to get a 2nd yellow for time wasting too. He showed his shot stopping and taking crosses capabilities were excellent but there's no need to come through a dozen bodies at the edge of the area , this could be a rocky ride.
