Grover Washington 'Winelight' is a smooth jazzy background music album.

Thanks Leon. I've got Grover Washington 'Inside Moves' The best is yet to Come' and 'At his Best'. I haven't heard 'Winelight' so will give that a go

[The Subhuman]

Then there's Frank's Grand Wazoo and Petite Wazoo bands ...some of my favourite jazz right there

[whiteswan]

Swannie, you cannot go wrong with John Coltrane's A Love Supreme. An album everyone should listen to at least once

Cheers Nick, I'll give that a listen this evening as well....(Mr Swan is gonna love me! )

He might surprise you, swannie, and that album is very accessible for anyone who isn't a jazz fan

Weather Report - Heavy Weather..Jaco Pastorious at his finest - RIP Jaco

Just listened to a bit of that faaip. Really good, will try and listen to the whole album this evening....oh dear, Mr Swan will be spending quite a while in his workshop I reckon!

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR KENNY G!!!

I'm afraid I've got 'Duotones' faaip, which is why I'm looking for something 'new'

Not married to a Martin are you? .....

Sorry insider forum joke

[gessa]

It could be Martyn, you know after the operation.

Delines 'The Imperial' (played six times)
Delines 'Colfax' (3 times)

Love these delectable Delines albums, thank you Durly

And two more fine recommendations that came my way

Rustin Man ' Drift Code'
Ian McNabb 'Truth & Beauty'

[1964white]

Went back to a album after Faaip had nominated 'Methadonia' in one our recent Mega-Song polls

Blasting out in the car this week, really enjoying this :

Fun Lovin' Criminals 'Come Find Yourself'

[Dalton]

Searching for the Young Soul rebels by Dexys is class. Always worth a spin now and then. Tell me when the light turns green....belter!

Last night I played a slight oddity of Louis Spohr's Violin concerto no8 arranged for Cello and played by Raphael Walfisch.

Can't stop playing The Delines 'Imperial' album, on constant play since I purchased this masterpiece in Piccadilly Records whilst we were in Manchester last week.

One of the best modern country/americana albums ever, this album floats along like a dream.

Amy Boone's tender vocal chords blended with the band instrumentalists featuring pedal steel guitar, trumpets, keyboards & percussion is nothing short of blissful emotion

DELICIOUS !

Even though we are only in March I'll be surprised if this beauty is not my Album Of The Year

[1964white]

Following on from my favourite albums of 1974 listened to some of my faves from 2004.

Ten from 2004

Interpol 'Antics'
Arcade Fire 'Funeral'
Morrissey 'You Are The Quarry'
Loretta Lynn 'Van Lear Rose'
Hold Steady 'Almost Killed Me'
Elbow 'Cast Of Thousands'
Keane 'Hopes & Fears'
PJ Harvey 'Uh Huh Her'
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 'Abattoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus'
Killers 'Hot Fuss'

Ten from 1984 over the next week

[Muppet the Cat]

Over the last week I've had pretty much on rotation play most of Elton's 'Classic Years' albums.

Putting singles aside you forget how many fantastic tracks there are on those albums, with favourites including Sixty Years On, Have Mercy on the Criminal, Curtains, Funeral for a Friend, Madman Across The Water, Take Me To The Pilot, This Song Has No Title etc etc...……………….some great stuff

[1964white]

I'll certainly give that a listen.

Do you also like The Honeycutters?

https://youtu.be/T87FD97QNRU

Or Frazey Ford?

https://youtu.be/PXRrySTujn8

Constantly on my playlist, played it twice this morning

Not heard the Honeycutters/Frazey Ford albums Sara, I'll give them a listen

[1964white]

Frazey Ford was in The Be Good Tanyas, who are also well worth a listen if you like beautifully played, bittersweet Americana. Her solo albums to datehave more of a soul influence, as she's a big Otis Redding fan Great voice and songwriter imo.

I love my soul

[1964white]

Today

The Delines 'The Imperial'
Counting Crows 'August & Everything After'
Pearl Jam 'Ten'

[1964white]

Listening to the Mark Hollis solo album.

Brilliant album
