Always been a Shackleton fan, he deserves his place v Leicester now.
I said it earlier in the week in another thread ...would love to have seen Shacks start alongside Klich today... fully deserves to start agin Leicester mate
One of the reasons I did not want Cantwell... Shacks would be forced out ... Don't think God was going to allow that to happen

Have to say mate, other than a 5-10 minute spell, I was really disappointed with a lot of your play tonight, don't want to rub things in but you'd probably do a lot better if your players stayed on their feet a bit more. We totally outclassed you all over the park. Mings is a lucky boy but tbf so was Struijk for us.
Bamford's third was brilliantly taken but 3 defenders or was it 4 and no one made a challenge.
You've had a great start but the thing now is, how you react to this performance.
Nice strike but the amount of time the ball sat untouched was shocking from Villa..Had that have been scored against us we'd be heavily down marking our defenders and calling it a defensive error. The second goal was our best after great work from Klich and great strike from Paddy with his strong foot.

Great performance Leeds, hugely impressive. I thought like ayling was motm, what a player.
I was worried about tonight's game and I was right.
Top class football
Couldn't agree more, the goals will get the plaudits but Aling was superb all night. Certainly the best performance by a centre back this season by a distance for us. Probably last season too
Thanks for bothering to sign up and comment

I can't stand the diving git but he does look like a very good player when he plays rather than dives.
Marcelo would make him a world beater and not stand for the diving (I thought he dived over Struijk as he had him beat and could have continued had he ridden the lateish challenge fairly easily)

You missed a treat Swannie
Up in Wakey visiting my 90 year old Mum and Dad Leon. It's all a bit hectic and busy....could only look at our tablet/phone alerts, but I really did enjoy reading everyones comments after the game as usual. What a fab bunch we have here on MOT forum
And credit to the Villa fans who are posting on here as well.....taking defeat as they did. Decent honest guys.....
Oh no a twenty-year-old in goal we will get punished WRONG.
Alioski at left-back a disaster waiting to happen WRONG.
Ayling at Centre back out of position WRONG
Harrison no pace can't cross WRONG.
Bamford can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo WRONG WRONG WRONG
What chance do we stand against a team that beat Liverpool 7-2 and they have got so much better players in Grealish Barkley Mcginn Diaz Cash Watkins and that goalkeeper they signed from Arsenal WRONG
And we are missing Cooper and Kalvin our defense will never cope WRONG
What the hell is Bielsa playing at pulling our DMF off after 20 minutes that will completely disrupt the whole midfield WRONG
How can we get so many things WRONG and still play some brilliant football and win the game 3-0
Rejoice the day of the Lord Bamford has come... am I right or am I WRONG
Just finished a long night shift with dodgy Internet connection, once again the comments and commentary on the game were superb.
Thanks everyone for keeping the updates fresh and insightful, almost felt like I was watching it.
Glad to see paddy bagging a hatrick and once again it sounds like my favourite player Klich had a stormer

ohhhh i 100% agree with you there & most of the "free kicks" are taken quickly and get wasted. Jack definitely goes down a little easy — there's a really good and insightful article (I think the Athletic had) which went in detail as how he wins lots of fouls. Bringing in Barkley will definitely help in that regard (again, not sure how much Villa you guys watched last year) because Jack was our only outlet for 99% of games thus why he was 'fouled' so much. That Grealish run from midfield that Meslier saved well would've ended up on all the highlight reels and I think that went through Jack's head.
I said this in another post, but McGinn has played I think 5 full 90 min games in the last 2 weeks and Luiz has done 4 + travel to/from Brazil, so I wasn't completely surprised that they were lethargic tonight. Don't think we coped with the switch to the 2vs1 on the wing at all and that destroyed us.
Yep, no clue how Mings wasn't sent off. Though as said Struijk could've walked — also why make that challenge less than 20 seconds after you've been booked? No clue why.
Tbh I thought most of Villa's players looked absolutely knackered not long into the 2nd half then we just totally dominated.

I was hoping we'd put in an offer for Barkley before the deadline. Then his first two games at Villa really showed what he could do. Today he didn't do much though. And if we'd signed him, we wouldn't have seen that performance by Shackleton today. Now, I'm really glad we didn't sign any midfielder. Would love to see Shacks get more time.
Me too ! He's got talent and pace to burn. We don't need to spend silly money at all.

Most folk know how good a player Grealish is but he's always looking for the foul, even though he does also get fouled a lot too.
Not disagreeing but the same can be said about Bamford. Every player does it, to the point where Jack Harrison gets fan mail simply because he doesn't do it. It's just the nature of the game. Unfortunately.
WHAT A PERFORMANCE. Woke my dog up threes times celebrating our goals, must have wondered what on earth was going on
loving life in the prem so far - just hope it continues, loving the performances from the boys, only lost two games to liverpool and wolves by a single goal, drew with city, and 3 wins?! how good is that start! only the wolves result disappoints slightly really
I'm still buzzing this morning. As I said previously, I only saw from from 35 minutes onwards as I was trying to find a working stream but what I saw was nothing short of astonishing.
The second half was as good a half as I have seen in a long, long time.
I can only comment of what I saw but I thought Ayling Klich, Shackleton and Dallas were all outstanding and Harrison and Costa were much improved on the Wolves game.
Pleased for Paddy as well.
Really excited about Raphinha, he looks real class from his two cameo appearances so far. I think he will end up as our regular number 10.
Now, after 4 days between the Wolves and Villa games, we now have a 10 day gap to the Leicester game.
