Perspective - it’s not as if we lost to Brighton.

They had done their homework, somebody is helping Frank with his analysis.

We move on.

Tbf we were playing a side that cost over £500m to assemble. They should be winning the league this season, no excuses.

Poor second half there and bringing poveda on wasnt the right choice would rather costa tbh. Never mind though our season wont be determined by games against Chelsea. The fans make a difference, especially once the Chelsea mob found their voice and for Leeds and others not to be allowed them in just isn't fair - should be all clubs or nothing.

Spent all day chasing the ball, especially in the second half.

Our inability to defend corners was key today. They easily could have had two or three other goals from corners.

We're not a top four side yet, but I suppose we knew that.
Spot on.
Defending corners is a worry.
Lost to one of the top teams in the league so not the end of the world..

They have a £70m keeper that can’t get a game

2nd half wasnt acceptable though.

Expected to lose or not it isnt acceptable to not turn up at all 2nd half.

Correct, disgraceful from the PL not defending equality within their showpiece.

Obviously the government just want fans back ASAP, and it can happen in London, so screw everyone else.

Hmm so what was the difference between Welbeck last week and Poveda? I don't mind VAR, but there's no consistency with it, that's the problem.

To be fair, I didnt think we'd get anything from this game. Let's be honest here....our lads went up against maga bucks Chelski who have only lost one game this season and are now too of the league. Let's not berate any of our players, they all did their best. Cooper who has been slated past weeks is now getting plaudits from us.....another week its Paddy....which means that none of our players deliberately go out to disappoint us, they all do their best week in week out. Some games they will shine, some games they might have an off day....we all do.
Let's put that behind us and whip Wet Spams a*se on Friday!

We turned up Clay, but just couldn’t compete. Money talks, no point in attacking our players for not being world class.

In the second half you could see the big difference in class. We can’t complain really, because this is the best we can get out of our team. Chelsea have big international players who are just faster, more skilled.

But what is really worrying is that we dont have any tall player in the team, we had no chance in the air against Grioud and Zouma.

We have to somehow get in at least 2 more top class players come January.

Nor is Dallas, Alioski, Ayling, Harrison or Bamford. Not sure why all the press etc are lauding us, every game the opposition look like scoring 4, let's be honest we will never get 5 with this team and this style. Playing out from the back every single time is going to cost us dearly at some point and the league does not lie.

Disgraceful, not to mention the financial advantage other clubs will get. No level playing field this season. As long as the London clubs and Liverpool get their way though.

We were outclassed not outfought.

Our players chased hard when they lost possession, Meslier stood firm time and time again. There were some fine blocks.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

I guess it depends what people want/expect from this season. If you think we should be challenging for the top 6, then I'm afraid you're deluded. If it's staying up/consolidating, then we're on track.

Yep agreed. The difference was they had the better players, as was to be expected. Can't fault the lads for the effort, but we didn't really create enough tonight.

I still think we need pace and energy in CM, Riqui Puig would be perfect, and more creativity out wide.

Dont agree Carrick.

1st half yes, 2nd half no.

At times Chelsea players had nobody near them, do the basics well, stick with your man etc.

Not criticising them for the loss itself, we shouldn't be beating the Billionaires toy, but not doing the basics 2nd half wasnt acceptable imo.

To easy for Chelsea at times.
