And Leeds too, no?

I mean if every player was fit and ready to go, I don't think Roberts starts anyway, and think Forshaw is in difficulty too.

And that's what annoys me most about the Roberts abuse. He's a sub. Every team has them. Indeed, every team has to have them. Some teams have subs that cost tens of millions and earn multiples of what he's on. We're not Man City, we can't have subs benches rammed with superstars. He's a squad player, pressed into action more than we might have expected this season. It's simply unrealistic to expect him to be a great player, and unfair to abuse him because he's not.

There is no incentive to do well...... Not that they should need an incentive at this level....

This is an interesting one because even at full strength Tyler is probably the best ten at the club as we speak. Rodrigo hasn't played well there at all, Klich is fading, Forshaw isn't a ten. Gelhardt might be Roberts competitor for the role but Gelhardt is a forward for me.

If we got Bogusz back and if he got in the first team squad and if he played well then that might be problem solved at AMF but that's a lot of if's

Roberts is a symptom of our current situation not the cause. The criminal lack of quality investment results in a player like Roberts being constantly thrown into the mix when they are not of the level required in this league.

Good on him for putting in some decent performances and he will continue to get game time because he is in the Bielsa 16. I do hope he continues to improve but the progression is marginal IMO.

I will never slag off any LUFC player who walks onto the pitch. Whether I think they are up to it is not a negative just an opinion.
Exactly.
I never want a Leeds player to have a bad game but if someone plays poorly I will say so, I don't care who it is.
If Roberts, or anyone else for that matter, has a good game I will be the first to sing their praises.
Do I think Tyler Roberts is PL standard? No but he has improved in the last couple of games, great cross for Gelhart's goal at Chelsea.

Not really, we've done well for three seasons using MB consistent approach to team selection. If he kept dropping players after 1/2 bad games then we'd probably be mid championship and Bielsa back in Argentina

We're not actually doing badly this season. Take out those 3 AWAY games at BIG 4 clubs and we're

P - 14
W - 3
D - 7
L - 4
For 14
Against 15
GD -1
PTS - 16

The draws are where we're up on last season, but it can happen to any team and it's not relegation form.. AND we've done all that while we've had a 4 month injury crisis

Ellandback1 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 9:46 am I don't think it helps that Bielsa keeps taking responsibility for the players. They get paid millions, and are full time professionals. Perhaps if they were held responsible, their performances may improve?
Well said mate

Sadly it's called pride, something lacking in todays society , not just the Leeds players

Although that has been the case for the last 3 seasons and they seem to have managed to do quite well.

That's the right approach Chilli, if they're playing shite then they need called out and told to improve.

If they're doing well let's lavish praise on them.

Tyler's done well lately, so he's got a clean slate for me. If he starts playing shite then I'll be stating it, same as the rest of them.

For instance, the other night barring Meslier and Gelhardt they were all shite and they need to be told that in very plain language.

Then the next message is, get on that pitch against Arsenal, put in a performance and win, anything else will not be accepted.

A good old fashioned kick up the arse.

Personally I thought Messlier had a sh*te game too.

I think the players own sense of pride will see them be fired up for the Arsenal game.
