This is now an old fashioned English relegation battle, is there anyone on the coaching staff with experience of this?

IF Phillips comes back and plays with Dallas or Forshaw in the middle, I think we’ll have enough, even without Bamford
Spot on stay up this season.

Major investment in summer.

You cant concede the amount of goals we do and expect to stay up.

You cant be as easy to score against as we are and expect to stay up.

The style has helped us get where we are but a blind man can now see Premier League teams have worked out how to beat our man to man system and hurt us.

Injuries dont help but its more than that, all the pundits arent wrong, the man to man system is now actively hurting us.

Fundamentally man for man means you have 10 1v1 battles all over the pitch, logic tells you that a better player will win his battle more often than not.

Our man to man system actively favours the majority of our opponents who will generally have more talented individuals in the main.

Its no coincidence none of Bielsa's far more successful disciples have used man for man like he does, none of them

Gallardo, Poch, Pep, not one of his disciples, literally dozens of managers say he influences them but nobody uses this man for man system, are they all wrong? Course not.

Its brave and on a level playing field it would work but it doesnt allow for opponents simply having better payers.

You're a different team with Phillip's and Bamford playing, you really think forshaw is as good a replacement as Englands ball winning midfielder.

For what's it's worth how much do you think it would take to replace someone like Kalvin?
He's a wind up merchant, piss off back to the barcodes site.

So Phillips on his own will see us to safety. Bamford probably won't play again this season. Think you're looking through rose tinted specs like many of our fans.

Nah you seem to think you should be challenging the top 6 with a championship side with a few decent player's that could play at a higher level.

You’re the deluded one mate you're Leeds United not Barcelona 👍.

What bielsa has achieved with this squad is nothing short of a miracle 👍.

DDB220 wrote: Wed Feb 23, 2022 9:44 pm There is no point sacking Bielsa - because there isn’t enough games for anyone to come in and change what we do. He either somehow gliders this s**t out or we are in dire straights.
He cannot play Klich and Rodrigo together in midfield again- it is a car crash 9 times out of 10
Problem is he wont change, elements of this system havent worked all season.

You dont concede 50 odd goals just because of injuries.

But he wont do anything differently.

Nobody wants to play boring defensive football but there has to come a point where he says ok, we need some points, we need to be more solid, lets sacrifice some style for some solidarity?

Blackpool played nice football till the last, great bunch of lads, charismatic manager, pretty football, easy to score against, got relegated and everyone as one went, should have been more defensive.

Bielsa cannot be sacked because if he is sacked there is no coaching set up as they are all employed by him. No interim manager except Mark Jackson or John the head groundsman.
He has to sort it out, there is no other option.

No we don't think that, hence why the tactics have been pulled apart on here, the favouritism, refusing to sign players etc.

What's the miracle if he's just taking us back to the Championship?
