Llorente best player on the park v Watford, would be a kick in the balls to drop him now

That's what I would do. Let;s see how Firpo gets on under Marsch. I'd love to see Gelhardt start, though Marsch is likely to go for James, due to his speed, and the fact he tracks back. I'd drop Llorente, just because I haven't been impressed with him, and give his spot to Koch. I think Harrison has scored 3 in 4, so obviously can't drop him.
It's not the time to risk Firpo as an experiment to see how he performs playing under Marsch. He could be a disaster. Win the game and we bring Palace into the relegation scrap rather than it being between us, Everton and Burnley.

I agree with Koch, because I thought we bought him with the idea of him being a C/B to replace White, and I'm not sure about Llorente.

Absolute must win this game is now. Lose or draw and we've got a very high chance of ending up in the relegation zone after the next three games

I don't see Everton reeling us in from 4 points back in games v Liverpool, Chelsea and away at Leicester.

But they can certainly beat Watford away , Brentford and Palace at home.

A win today will give us some breathing space, 5pts ahead of Burnley and 7pts ahead of Everton (although Everton would still have a game in hand). A defeat, bearing in mind our upcoming games, would really put the cat among the pigeons.

A win would be priceless!

As our game is the only one on tonight, there will be a big audience praying for us to slip up. The other side of that is if we put in a performance and get a decent result ( ideally a win) then we can put a real dent in the morale of the Everton camp in particular - team and support alike.

So if any extra motivation is required (which it really shouldn’t be) then Cooper should be reminding everyone, “remember that Frank is watching”!

I think Jesse should start Joffy tonight and play him instead of James and use James as an sub option against tiring legs.
It was obvious against Watford that we will be playing it long but how many times were we unable to hold the ball up when it did?

Joffy has that in his game and can then bring Rod, Raph and Harrison into the game and most importantly find his way into threatening positions in the box.
Their most successful formation at home is 4-3-3 so Raph can get wider when we recover the ball and find our two targets Rod and Joffy in attacking areas. Ayling and KIich can raid forward while Phillips holds the fort in the middle.

I just fear that James will get smothered in the middle and we will waste valuable possession.

I hope you don't mind if i get a piggy back from you, but i like that ^ team and your thinking, but i'd push Klich on and leave KP to run that line on his own, and i'd start with Dan the man then bring Joffy on, but let's see what the Yank brings out of his locker after 2 weeks with the boyz. Might surprise us with Cresswell ? Greenwood ? Summerville ? Joffy ?....who knows the secret of the black magic box.

They're there for the taking, will his system fail him ? will they pick us apart ? Do the boyz get 'it' ? Can they implement it...or are they gonna show up like that Wolves 1st half and capitulate ?

Are they half Bert/half Yank tonight ...or full blown Yank ?.... when we need full blown Bert ?
Not dependent on Google, the www or 'stats' - Just a guy that puts his eyes to full use on the beautiful game :geek: ...That Ayling goal and "You couldn't script it  " - Dirty Leeds B@stard.
Must dash.

Cresswell might be handy against their front three as Mateta and Saha are strong players and his power might be a better match up.
Maybe Jesse will play a back three and park the proverbial and try and grind out a point.

I just hope Phillips has the stamina to keep up with Gallagher tonight. With Forshaw banjoed we have no replacement in there and Poor Koch has just looked lost at times.

Tough one to call tonight. I only live a few miles from Selhurst Park and could not get a ticket for love or money. They used to offer tickets to local primary schools for a £5 not that long ago.

Incidentally, Firpo may be better defensively under JM playing zonal, he was all at sea trying to man-mark and teams exploited his willingness to follow an opposition player down the tunnel.

But Regardless I still do not trust him, he is clumsy in the tackle particularly when playing against a pace and tricky opponent. He is an attacking wingback but will never be a FB for me.
