Ironically, the University of Colorado Buffalo's hosted the North Dakota State University Bison in a College Football game yesterday.

In fairness, Hull focused most of their effort on the other side with Miller on Bogle. But still credit to Junior. He's looking solid this season.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 3:53 pm Stellar performance from Junior Firpo today. Got forward really well while needing almost no help defensively. Beautiful assist for the second goal.

Liam Alan Miller is a Canadian International. He was born in Toronto. Had a great Copa America!!ElKapitan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:14 pm Very good if not in control for some parts.
Save the best for last so lets get the not so good out the way first.
Meslier, ok but distribution and decisions are a bit iffy but shot stopping on point. Serious offers come in next year be tempted to get a better keeper on a lower wage while he's young. Lots out there in the 25-32 age bracket.
Fullbacks...... Defensively both Firpo/Bogle get caught out on the counter alot. The Australian guy had the measure of Bogle on counters for me. there was one point when it took about 10 seconds for Bogle to get back into a defensive position at which point Rodon was pulled out of position and a better striker would have finished the chance.
Thought Firpo was decent. He played well and no issues really in defence though let his winger get acres of space at one point as he gambled/drawn in on closing down a midfielder. Came to nothing but again we wont be let off as lightly by better players.
Feel if teams are going to exploit us it'll be down the wings.
Now the good.
Rodon/Struijk.... very solid. Good play. Nice partnership that could be the best in the championship.
Midfield, Aarronsson (looks better and better), Ampadu, Gruev very good if a little bit lightweight in the robust defending department, never feel like we can bully another team off the ball physically but technically very good. Short sharp controlled passing that was a joy to watch at times. Tanaka looks solid with nice touches and intelligence and Rothwell I think will become a key player as he brings that physicality.
Solomon/Ramazani very nice to watch. You can see the quality. Solomons assist was unbelievable. Lovely touches by Ramazani in his cameo.
Gnonto was good but end product a little wayward today.... he'll keep on getting better with games I reckon and find that consistency.
Piroe excellent finish, really hope he finds his place this year.
Star of the show for me was Joseph, cracking finish, physical when competing for balls, excellent linking of play.... guys gonna be a star. First choice striker regardless of others finishing for me.
Im hopeful and theyre only going to get better when they gel.
Mot

If Bogle and/or Firpo have been attacking they can't get back and be goalside but that is what our system is all about and why we play with 2 defensive minded midfielders. Rodon or Struyjk are expected to go out to meet the danger (the winger) with Ampadu usually then dropping in as a centre back and Gruev dropping into the DM role. As such we keep shape and numbers fairly well. The alternative is to play with more defensive minded fullbacks and have a more attacking midfielder instead of Gruev/Ampadu.ElKapitan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:14 pm Fullbacks...... Haha wasn't sure tbh, but remember him from last year, very good player and caused us problems last year.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 8:40 pm Liam Alan Miller is a Canadian International. He was born in Toronto. Had a great Copa America!!![]()
