When they got the equaliser, from the radio commentary, you sense there is only one winner....lufc1304 wrote:Double feck!!

Re: Blackpool v Leeds Match Thread News/Reports/Ratings
My match report:
Warnock had his ass handed to him on a plate tonight. We were lucky to walk away with only a 2-1 score line.
Our un-gelled squad came up against a team with more quality in midfield especially in movement and quick passing.
Their genuine pace was the nail in the coffin for tonight's hopes.
Warnock seems to bypass midfield - Blackpool play 5 in there with wingers that can run like billy whizz.
HOOF the ball to becchio and he fails to win a header and our entire attack plan brakes down terribly.
We rode our luck against wolves for a long period in the second half, tonight away from home against a team that knows what it's doing we got a hard lesson.
Blackpool WILL be in the play off's probably auto.
At least now we have a very hard start out of the way and most teams we come up against now I can say we are equall or better.

Paul Green was warnobs best signing.
If you disagree please send me a PM so we can get in to a fight.

Reckon that is a decent review Ems. I'm not well pleased with the action or the result. Was never going to be easy...bring in our midfielders (they was totally ignored tonight?) and we may do well...Emsley wrote:My match report:

What I DID like was that Warnock had the balls to call out certain players on his post game interview. Name and SHAME!
Takes a CONFIDENT manager to do that...

A little piece of me died tonight. I was depressed when Colin was appointed. Things got worse when he started rubbishing his inheritance and by implication criticising Larry, one of our own. Colin you will never be one of our own. The forest debacle was a nadir after which Colin promised us we would never see another performance like it while he was manager. Tonight was even worse. We were battered. Energy, pace, passing and movement from Pool. Absolutely nothing from LUFC. No energy, no heart, no closing down or passing. Our young fullback took a mauling. The beast was totally out of his depth. Our old men looked like old men who were relegated last season. A fair reflection of the play would have been 8 or 9 nil. An unmitigated disaster. Only Kenny worthy of wearing the shirt. I didn't want Colin, I didn't want a team of old men brought together to do a job (sic) and I certainly didn't want Diouf and Colin's anti football. Pool and their fans were superb. We were just a team of has beens. I have no idea how Colin turns this round. I hope he walks tbh. He is a fraud. Gutted.

we were lucky to have only gone down by 2-1 - could have been 5 or 6-1. by the sound of the commentary, we were thoroughly beaten by a better team. at least we got one the toughest games on the schedule out of the way early...

tbf, he's right with a lot of it...I also don't think Varney, Norris, Drury et al should be anywhere near Elland Road and have said so elsewhere. Unlike WR I did advocate the employing of NW, but I don't like the team he's building and for the first time in my Leeds United supporting life find it impossible to identify with any of them. I do hope Diouff is gone before to long..Twiggster wrote:

I nailed my colours to the mast on Colin from the off so I am biased. Let's see what pinky white has to say tomorrow. He wanted Colin, has told us how confident he is now Colin has his own team and quite frankly has popped his cork for the fella. For me this is far too serious to go fishing. Listening to a couple of Pool fans on the way out summed it up - Leeds' defending was shocking. Isn't that what Colin is supposed to be good at. They also said we were dirty - true, it was the only way to stay in the game. They could also have said our attacking threat was non existent - the only way out of our own half was 'hoof'. We have a longstanding problem, scouting. We just ain't looking in the right places. Their 18 v our 8 was a classic example.faaip wrote:

Re: Blackpool v Leeds Match Thread News/Reports/Ratings
I think peoples expectations are far more than the reality of this squad . With the budget Warnock has had to work with you can't complain . If this squad stays as it is i think we will finish anywhere from 8th to 12th , that is my opinion.
We are lacking speed in key areas.
We were only hanging on against Wolves as well , it seems like we score and then press back instead of trying to kill of the game.
I am as disappointed as everyone else in the lack of funds of trying to get top notch players, but i'm not building my hopes up only to be fake hope , the season has only begun so lets give it time .

Re: Blackpool v Leeds Match Thread News/Reports/Ratings
We can't say for certain that this team will fail. Not yet.
It does need to Gell - But from what I can tell 6th or a lucky 5th is our best bet.
We wanna pray that takeover goes through sooner rather than later.
Didn't expect this amount of midfield bypass at all from warnock.
Dare I say it?
Any team with a good CB placed on Becchio cuts our gameplan down quite well, I don't think it takes a genius to figure it out how to stop us playing.
I'll keep my gavel to the side for a month before I bring it down.
On a lighter note though - it could be the best team in the championship just out witted us, out played us, and we had a stinker of a game. Next two games will tell us a lot more.

2 seasons ago NW and his mighty QPR side was outwitted home and away by a much derided manager as QPR were played off the park by a Leeds Utd team assembled on a shoestring.Emsley wrote:it could be the best team in the championship just out witted us, out played us
We aren't going to see great football this season but hopefully will have a hard working team that will give their all, defend solidly and score lots of goals from balls pumped forward. Hopefully we are defending better but I will allow others who saw the game to elaborate on that subject as we looked shocking from the 'defending' of the 2 goals.

Yuck! Spoiled my holidays, that one did.
Can't imagine what to think at this point. I'm optimistic by nature, but absent cash and talent, we're on a road to nowhere. Like Faaip said, I'm struggling to relate to the current group.
Please Ken, get the deal done and let go.
