I hate Chelsea like no other. I hope they lose every game they play (except when they play Man U; since they can't both lose I root for a draw).

Beating them so convincingly was a joy to behold. Leeds easily the better side last night. Very much wish I could have been there.

Throughout the match thread on the Chelsea forum, all they could say was that their poor team selection had prevented them from beating a s**t team.

No mention of how well we played at all.

Self-entitled shower of w**kers.

Okafar wins the ball & Calvert-Lewin was there for the tap-in
Depends on the personnel because last year we'd have likely had Piroe, Soloman, James and Aaronsen all swarming around up there and then Firpo tapping it home through Bogle's legs.

For me our trouble stems from not having a 10 to be near DCL (or whoever is up top). That is the change in system from last year which happened because of the signings we made.

The beauty of football. If Gudmonnsen doesn't slip and lose the ball then Chelsea don't play it accross the back and we don't get the third - likely Gudmonnsen crosses and we don't score.

Our first goal. If Stach doesn't mishit his shot which deflects off a Chelsea player we don't get the corner from which Bijol scores. Another day Stach catches it sweet but the keeper saves it.

Chelsea have some great players but they are more suited to winning football matches where both teams play the Barca, City etc way. We got our tactics and approach to the game spot on.

What a great night to be at ER, more than made up for the drenching we got at the Villa game. A brilliant reminder of why we all do it 👍

We've had no one near our only striker this season.

Great to see two up front, of course I'm out of the old school, watching the likes of Jones/Clarke or Viduka/Smith.

Yeah and yet some people would tell you we have played the same formation as we did last season or that our signings have not had any influence over Farke's formation. We went from 4231 to 4321 to accomodate the likes of Stach and Longstaff into the team. We were effectively (or ineffectively if you prefer) playing with 3 defensvie minded midfielders with no real box to box midfielder and also with Aaronsen playing wide right (due to James and Gnonto's injury) little goal threat from the right. We saw with James's last couple of sub appearances how much more threatening we were with him on the pitch. I would have liked to have seen us go 4231 with a back 4, 2 central midfielders, 2 wingers (likely Okafor and James), Piroe as 10 (or Nmecha) and DCL as the 9. I think that would have seen us with far more attacking threat than we had been having.

Hopefully though the 532 can work as with who we have available at the moment it probably suits us best.

GreennWhite wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 3:47 pm We beat a good Chelsea side last night, and beat them fairly easily, but yet some fans still want to criticise and look for faults. There will always be faults in games, there will always be players who make mistakes.
Do some of our fans ever watch other teams, because if they do they must miss the fact that even much better teams than us make mistakes during games.
Why cant some fans just enjoy our wins without trying to downplay our win as the other team had a off night or we should have beaten them more convincingly.
Just enjoy us playing well and winning, and stop trying to pick faults in every game. :scar1
Well said. I think it is important to have conmstructive criticism after a win and look at ways to get better but some of the stuff is just criticising for the sake of it.

We won deservedly last night. We made Chelsea look poor, attitude and tactics spot on. Sure we could have been better but I'd take that performance every match this season.

Where was Facundo Buonanotte on Wednesday night

Not even on the bench.

He's only played 45 minutes of Premier League football against Brentford in September.

Orange Box wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 7:21 am I thought Gabby had more impact because he had the strength and pace to charge all the way down the line unimpeded by a winger. Maybe Bogle less so on the right.
The number of times Gabby whipped the ball across was a joy - we got lucky with the third, but it was his initial run that gave us the position.
Yeah, he had a brilliant game. Ran his heart out.
I also think Okafor deserves credit for the 3rd. He caused the defense and keeper to panic. He settled in very quickly next to DCL.

The two upfront were a right menace for Chelsea's defense.

Michael Bridges did make a good point in the commentary that Chelsea didnt try to put long balls over the defense when we were pressing. We were pushing quite high and they had no space on the break when they took possession. Liverpool may try that though on Saturday.

Never going to play much this season, he was bought to stop others buying him and likely as a loan asset. 3-5M per season for a few seasons, salary paid..

Had a peep on the Chelsea forum.

It does the soul good to know the Poundland Pep moniker has spread (among other more colourful names).

They dislike Maresca very much.

Is even a Maresca out poll(most do) that was started in September

Despite him having the highest win % since Conte and winning trophies last season they really really don't like him
