Had him as our highest rated player in my rankings (outside of Gnonto). But you’re making me feel bad for not going higher than a 6.5. Maybe that’s me weighing him down because of the poor performances of others.1964white wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 1:15 am Rothwell stood out like a sore thumb to me, he was head & shoulders above the rest.
Maybe I was watching a different game.
Reports from other Leeds related sites
Joe Rothwell – 7
Rothwell constantly kept things ticking over in midfield, was accurate with his passes, created several chances for his teammates, and was also brilliant defensively.
8 - Joe Rothwell
Got about a bit and tackled well. Played forward well, taking on a few players at times. Was the best midfielder, linking defence to attack professionally.

Re: Leeds Utd v Swansea City Match Thread
Just watched a bit whilst drinking my coffee. Who is this Gabe fella (‘I thought it was Steven Merchant until he started talking). He talks about Swansea’s 2nd equaliser having a statistical chance of going in of 0.3. This is the problem with stats. It does not take into account the nature of the finish. It was rifled in hard and low. Was it saveable, yes. But with that kind of finish was it only going to go in 3 times out of a hundred ? Absolute rubbish.
Another stat merchant, was getting wound up listening to him. Stats are great in a game like baseball as it is very positional with far fewer variables. Not doubting the levels of skill, but football and stats has far more subjectivity.
I am going to move it on to Browny.

Also, was on Leeds United books as a young lad. Coached & managed teams too!

He never misses, according to some of our fans.
Thank god for his 16 goals though.

Excellent, just rewatched the full 35 seconds then turned it off.

We lost the 1st Division on goal average, as it was then, twice I believe largely as a result of murdering teams 1-0 instead of pushing on for more goals. The best thing that could happen as when we let in an early goal, which was rare, and then we let them have it !!!

Fatigue !!! These guys do not travel "cattle class" they get the best of everything. Business class for them with fully reclining seats which turn into beds and first class cabin service.Jaydog wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 7:36 pm If you consider the advances in modern sport they’ve really never had it so good so I am not prepared to entertain fatigue as an excuse that could easily be used by Burnley or SU. People will obviously point to international duty which is a factor of course but still its a poor excuse imo.

Incredible achievement by a young team in our first season in Division One.Tom the Cat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:09 am We lost the 1st Division on goal average, as it was then, twice I believe largely as a result of murdering teams 1-0 instead of pushing on for more goals. My frustrations exactly. It was about a 60 hour turn around. And he still thinks Gnonto, Ramazani, Byram, Gruev, Joseph are not good enough to start. Contradicts what he said in January about believing his squad was good enough.
