Post by YorkshireSquare »

Leeds United's ownership landscape is set to undergo a significant transformation as Andrea Radrizzani's Aser Ventures and 49ers Enterprises have come to an agreement for the club's purchase. The announcement was made by Leeds United on their official website, confirming that the deal's terms have been finalized. In response to the agreement, Leeds United released a statement on their saying…

Leeds United can confirm an agreement has been reached between Aser Ventures and 49ers Enterprises for the purchase of the club. Both parties continue to work through the details, and further updates will be provided soon. All of our focus remains on a quick return to the Premier League. Thank you for your continued support. Marching on Together.

The agreement has now been submitted to the English Football League (EFL) for official approval. The EFL's responsibility lies in ensuring that all new board members associated with the 49ers meet the Owners and Directors test outlined by the league.

The 100% purchase estimated to value Leeds United at approximately £170 million. Now 49ers Enterprises, who already held a 44 percent stake in Leeds United since their initial purchase of a 15 percent share in 2018, will gain full ownership. This American entity consists of over 60 investors, with notable figures like chairman Paraag Marathe and Australian billionaire Peter Lowry among its members. Both Marathe and Lowry are currently serving on the Leeds Board and are expected to make additional appointments once the deal receives official ratification. The day-to-day operations of the club will continue under the supervision of chief executive Angus Kinnear.

Initially, Radrizzani and the 49ers had reached an agreement valuing Leeds United at £420 million. This deal held the potential for Radrizzani to earn a substantial sum of over £200 million from his remaining 56 percent stake. However, the valuation was contingent on Leeds United maintaining their Premier League status. Unfortunately, following the team's relegation, the valuation of the 49ers' investment drastically dropped by £220 million. Consequently, intensive negotiations over the past 24 hours became crucial to salvage the deal and find a viable solution.

With the takeover all but concluded, Leeds United supporters eagerly await the appointment of a new director of football and head coach so that preparations for the new season can get underway as they embark on their mission to reclaim Premier League status.
