Post by YorkshireSquare »

Leeds United have announced the appointment of Daniel Farke as their new head coach, and the German tactician is eager to take on the responsibility of leading the historic club. In his interview with LUTV, Farke expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized his determination to meet the club's expectations and repay the trust placed in him.

"I am very grateful to work for this amazing club in such a responsible role," Farke said. "I feel the responsibility to fulfill the expectations and repay the trust, so it is a special moment, and I am very grateful for this."

Fark, who joins Leeds United after his successful tenure at Norwich City during 2017–2021, is now looking forward to focusing solely on football and getting back to the essence of the game. He expressed his excitement about working with the players, smelling the grass, and immersing himself in the day-to-day coaching activities.

"From tomorrow onwards, I can focus on football only, and there is nothing better than to smell and feel the grass, working with the boys," Farke explained. "Once you choose to become a manager, there is a lot to do, many new names to learn, but it is always the same when you overtake a new club, very busy! I am looking forward to it and I've had a very warm welcome with lots of supportive faces. I can't wait for the football to start."

Acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead, Farke emphasized the importance of making sound decisions regarding staff and players, especially after a disappointing season. He believes that a successful pre-season, focusing on the fitness of the players and instilling his ideas and vision into their minds and hearts, will be crucial to the team's progress.

"Let's be honest, a season after a disappointing outcome is always difficult," Farke admitted. "You have to make many decisions in terms of the staff and players; you have to be smart. It is important you work a lot in pre-season on the fitness of the players, and I also have to bring my ideas about football and my vision into the heads and hearts of the players."

Despite the challenges, Farke exudes confidence in the team's potential and emphasizes the importance of unity and togetherness within the club. He believes that by fostering a strong bond and clear vision, Leeds United can continually improve and achieve their goals.

"There is lots to do in the next four and a half weeks, but we don't complain," Farke declared. "We are fully convinced of what we have to do and where we want to go. We know when we have a big togetherness and unity at the club, then we have a chance to get better and better from week to week. This is what we are aiming to do, and we have a clear vision, so from now on, we can work on it."

Leeds United fans will undoubtedly be excited by the passion and determination displayed by their new head coach. With Farke's clear vision, commitment to unity, and focus on the fundamental aspects of the game, the club looks poised for an inspiring journey under his leadership. As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Leeds United to see how they evolve under the guidance of Daniel Farke.

Farke will be assisted by Eddie Riemer, with Christopher John and Chris Domogalla also joining the coaching team at Elland Road, having previously worked together at Norwich.
