+ Our starting 11 against their starting 11 being the better team.

- Our bench against their bench. Although we have always known that it can only be a long slow build.

- Also having to watch those entitled tw*ts celebrate.

P. Best side for an hour and played far better than both games last season.

N. Trafford at fault (after seeing a replay) for the first.
Had he saved it I think they would’ve got really desperate and we bagged a second on the break.

Positives- for 60 minutes we competed well against Arsenal, good team performance and better off the ball shape.

Negatives- Another game where we didn't cope when the opponent stepped it up and ineffective sub performances.

Pos - Performance much improved compared to last season
Neg - Lack of quality or any game changers on the bench is a concern

P: Showed we can compete with the better teams in the division. Sadly money talks

N: That Arsenal didn't do anything to deserve their equaliser. A very soft goal to concede at a point where Arsenal were looking bereft of ideas.

That's the big difference though. The reason the likes of Guimares costs £75m+ is cos he is able to produce consistently. We have players that are good players but lack the the extra few %, the ability to take the chance when it comes on a consistent basis etc.

It is like under Bielsa. We could go toe to toe with the big boys, create as many chances but the opposition had the quality to take the chances whereas we would often need 20 chances to score.

It's a stuttering, gradual progression, so I guess it's only gonna kick on when we bring better quality players in.

The fact we look at the bench and see Bren Dan, Longstaff, Gruev, Nmecha and the German goalie whose name I've already forgotten, means we're handicapped.

But I also feel that Farke and the players are not managing match situations effectively and we're missing out on points.

Arsenal were poor against Brighton and got scalped, whereas we let them off the hook. Teams like Arsenal and City, etc, still have off days, despite their quality, but they don't miss the opp to kill matches when it's necessary.

We need to add game management and gamesmanship to out repertoire, all the top, successful teams have done this, including us when we were in our pomp.

N. Coming away with nothing

Positive: Huge improvement given last season's two games
Negative: Not getting anything from a game we could've won. The lack of genuine outright quality, rather than being good system players.

Positive - We were playing some great football and creating chances, Could have been at least 2 up.

Negative - Their subs changed the game, while we took off our best players and replaced them with ineffective ones.

+ Very good battling performance and like others I'm disappointed that we didn't come away with at least a point.

- The number of posters who seem to forget just exactly where this team/squad are regarding the re-build and its development as a premier league side. Far too easy for some to moan and complain when things don't go right.

Plus - Farke's early tactical set up, for a manager that was a forward he has the defence playing really well, even if it did cost us 10 times as much as our forward line (not literally)

Minus - Went up in flames when 40M Trafford screwed up, if that were Meslier he'd have been crucified here

Well said. Arsenal brought on Gykorres, Bruno and Timber.

Bruno and Gykorres alone cost as much as our starting line-up.

Timber, the cheapest of their 3 subs, cost around the same as our record signing Trafford.

would a better manager give us game management ?
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

so how can we complete with the top 6 in financial terms. Sponsorship is surely a way, we need to obtain a much better deal

Basically teams can't. That is why Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U etc are leading the clamour for City to be basically ruined. Basically they want to maintain the status quo and f*ck the rest. Why they would have been happy in a Euro Superleague etc.
