Leeds erratic form away from home continued as West Brom became the latest side to inflict maximum damage on Daniel Farke's Whites. Grady Diangana's 37th minute strike was all that separated the two sides in the end, and although the Whites spent large periods camped out in the Baggies final third, managed just one effort on target all night.

It's easy to point fingers at individuals, but in truth Farke's men have found it difficult all season, breaking down opposition when all ten men get behind the ball. Similarly, Leeds last line of defence has proved frail to say the least, with many managing to breach it at first sight of goal.

It didn't help that the referee missed a blatant penalty, when Gnonto was bought down in the box, yet even without the rub of the green; with the players at Farke's disposal, had more than enough to put the game to bed.

The result left Leeds now fourth in the table, six points shy of Southampton, and nine points away from Ipswich Town in second place.

We have several blocked shots as we rarely shoot at the first opportunity, always wanting to take a touch too many.
They'd still get blocked if we shot first time.

1964white wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2023 11:14 am How many shots did we have on target?

How many times where we took one touch too many, allowing defenders to block a shot?

Feeble efforts from Piroe, Gnonto & Anthony.

Awful free-kick from Piroe, hitting the wall once again.

Our crosses, the baggies were like chalk & cheese compared to ours.

Players getting in the way of each other as there was no space to operate.

Byram's offside goal was the only clean strike.

Bamford & Joseph not good enough.

Spence, Anthony, Piroe & Gnonto a waste of space.

In the end it was all kick & hope.
64 I share your frustration. I'm sure most Leeds fans do. Must be even more annoying when you're there in person.
But the only thing consistent about Leeds United for the last decade has been inconsistency. At times it was farcical to witness the knee-jerk reactions and mindless decisions - on and off the field.
How many managers have we had in the last 7 or 8 years??

We have got to start doing things differently.

This roller-coaster performance cycle we are on is - to my mind - all about this culture that has developed over years now.

It's bloody frustrating to go from how we played against Ipswich to this mindless drivel we've offered up in the last 2 games.
But we have to have the entire squad and management deal with it and be accountable to get better.

As Michael Caine said in his autobiography Blowing the Bloody Door Off -
When you're going through hell, keep going.

No. Somebody posted it earlier.

I think it was 1 on, 3 off, and 11 blocked
