Re: Bournemouth v Leeds Utd Match Thread
My guess would be a 343 or 541 with Ayling/Rasmus as the right wing back (with the other as 1 of the central 3 defenders) and Harrison as lwb with Gnonto and Summerville in front of them.

I wonder if he's daring to go 4-1-4-1 and released Willy as i suggested could be good.
I just hope it's not 4-4-2

I'm hoping he's sorted Willy a free role and told him to make a fcking nuisance of himself everywhere across the final third, whilst others hold their positions and interact, anyhows it's made me sit up.

The game depends on that. Time for them to show why we bought them.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:22 pm Glad to see Summerville and Gnonto starting.
I hope it sees Summerville right Harrison left and Willy with Bamford.
Don't want to see Harrison shoehorned in to the middle.
Another show of faith in Bamford (Gracia seems to have Bielsa syndrome there).
Kristensen at left back is a worry, the only reason I may work is Dango Ouattara is left footed so it may suit Kristensen if he plays on there left as he will cut inside onto his stronger side.
Solanke vs Cooper and Koch is a worry, he's bigger, stronger and faster than them.
Hopefully Roca and McKennie step up for a whole match for a change

And they say - " But we started shipping goals ".....the idiots can't even see why that happened fer christs sake !!!
We are so lucky, on this forum, to have a person of superior intelligence with a magnificent footballing brain such as yourself to call on Ken!
Perhaps you would be kind enough to inform us “idiots” exactly why we did, in fact, only win 5 games all season and suffered 4 very heavy defeats in a row shipping 17 goals in the process up to the end of Bielsa’s tenure. I’m sure it would be useful for us dullards to be given a lesson from you the master!
Kenneth put it will but I also think that due to the team overachieving in the first season back up the board got complacent. In our first season back up we were weaker defensively than we had been in the championship with Koch/Llorente not being as good as Ben White. With Rodrigo not starting often it meant that the only position we'd strengthened was Raphinha on the right wing. So realistically we'd come 9th with a first team that hadn't been significantly strengthened and had been marginally strengthened at best (given Raphinha as the only strengthening and White the big loss). So the 2nd season saw us fail to strengthen the team again. We lost Alioski and replaced him with the injury prone Firpo. Whilst Alioski wasn't the greatest full back he was probably on a par with Firpo defensively and also contributed a few goals and assists. So again we were weakened. The only other signing was Dan James who due to injuries elsewhere had to play up front, he also hadn't had any time to bed in and learn Bielsa's system having joined us after the season had started.
So in a nutshell the team was at best marginally improved, if I'm being generous, since we'd been promoted. You then throw in the continual list of injuries and it is hardly a surprise, well it was to some, that we struggled.
Forget all the nonsense about teams finding us out and the garbage about man marking etc. If we'd not had the injuries we'd have been doing well simply to stay up with the strongest line-up we could have fielded. With the injuries it was a near impossible task yet Bielsa still had us above the relegation places when he was sacked.

If it's the same 4-2-3-1, he's planning to run their socks off and go at them i hope, and make 2nd half changes with that bench, i'm presuming Wober has told him he's capable of 45 if needed and won't use him otherwise.
I'm looking at it positive and hope i'm right,

That would be very defensive and a massive hole in the middle with no 10 on the pitch. Would also leave Paddy very isolated. It's also a change that usually takes games to work well and I'm not sure we can afford a formation change this late in a challenging season

Not really sure tbh. It may be that Summerville and Gnonto have basically been given license to roam, guess we will find out soon.

Not a lot of difference really, both equally as exposed in that role. Struijk has really stuggled with his form at times.

Javi has always been very wedded to his 4-2-2-2 4-4-2 thing.
I'd be shocked if he changed that.
Will be Harrison (if he's an idiot) or Gnonto (if he's sensible) playing with Bamford

Encouraged in the tunnel. Lots of hugs among the players. I think Roca hugged everyone. Looks like a United front. Hope Javi knows something with Rasmus at LWB. Really like Summerville centrally. He’s actually played well in that role previously. Let’s go Willy!!

Morning Everyone!
So it's a 4-2-3-1. I imagine that Harrison will be playing the middle.
