Same story as Man City - they have spent but spent extremely well. When they spent big money they spent it very well and when they spent smaller amounts such as the £12m for Trippier, £10m for Pope they have spent really well too. Shows what proper scouting is all about.

If we get at them early on and get ER rocking that will put the pressure on their defence.

We have some quick tricky forwards who will cause problems for their backline. Other than Trippier they're all big pondering defenders. So pace and trickery will bother them.

On the flip side our defence is a shambles. Hopefully Wober can galvanize our defence and marshall them into keeping a clean sheet.

Robles also has good leadership qualities.

They are a well organised side, with good attacking options. Newcastle will want to make amends for last week's disappointment against the Arse.

We need our guys to stand up and get a result today.

Well today is championship day for us I beleive it is anyway too little too late. But we must realistically beat Newcastle today to have even the remotest chance of survival. Being at home too if they can't rise to the occasion today and beat Newcastle then thats it cause it ain't happening at Brighton or against West ham. Its really is now or never

With Man City they are a club where top players want to go. Newcastle suddenly had a competitive wage budget and a big investment future to entice players. Our best selling point is our history and fans and Bielsa’s reputation before he left - but even that for some players was a double edged sword. There is nothing visionary about the club - just investment pipe dreams.

Then we have the wage structure. When you sign international quality seasoned pro’s they expect a commensurate wage. We were not able or were unwilling to compete in that regard. Probably the latter, the transfer strategy was always risk and reward based. Get it right you have big assets and a manageable wage structure, get it wrong as we have and the sh!t hits the fan.

I've not given up on, i might've given up on his task after today.

I want to see the team he picks and the formation, then i'll have probably given up unless he gets a result.

I honestly don't think with our players we could be in better hands and that includes Bert with just 3 remaining.

To defend how he'll want to defend i think he'll be a magician if he can also find a way to score and actually win, he has to find the right balance and i don't see how he can do it, there is a slight chance, he can't park the bus with this lot coz it'll just be The Alamo and we're bound to concede, of that i'm positive.

It'll be interesting to see how he responds if we go 0-1 down early, because he's then got to change tac tics and that's his biggest challenge, i'm dreading being 0-0 after 70mins and him shutting up shop, coz we won't hang on unless we're v lucky.

4-5-1 for me and tell them to bust a gut and have something sorted in training where he has a plan to use 3-5 subs as players wilt, i'd be telling them " you MUST tell me when you're knackered after say 70mins then i can adjust and introduce fresh legs'

It obviously depends on players available, but lets take Rasmus and Ayling for example - I'd start Ayling who's best game is flying forward giving us an extra man on the overlap, a bit dangerous for us defensively but it's a risk we must take, he has to run himself into the ground backwards and forwards for the entire time his legs will allow, then introduce Rasmus to do the same, etc etc with others.

I feel it's our ONLY chance and we go down fighting or Lord help us we stay up.
