I think we all need to chill out a bit.

We're way behind the rest in terms of organization and planning thanks to owner/rich and ignorant people shenanigans over the past months.
We have a new manager trying to figure out what he does and doesn't have. We have players who don't know the lie of the land - personally or as a squad.

It not ideal, but it is what it is. It can only improve.

I'm just pleased to see them out playing football. :P

I agree that you can't be too critical given our situation but have to say seeing that lot I am afraid it's just too big a task to put together a team to challenge for promotion especially given the time factor, I'm betting on mid table finish :(

Most noticeable was the senior players got cooked by literal children.

Bamford got nothing out of some school kids.

Ayling was a yard behind someone whose got to get home to do his homework.

Dan James was Dan James

And Struijk is so slow in every respect.

Mateo Joseph, Luis Sinisterra and Georgi Rutter were far more effective than Bamford, James and Gelhardt.

The need for a proper holding midfielder is obvious imo, don't think you can hope a Gyabi or Bate can do that in the Championship it's to important a role in a team that wants to play out from the back (see KP and Skipp for Norwich and Bielsa)

Same with the attacking midfield role, desperately need quality in those areas.

Some interesting things coming out of the match, Darmeh at left back second half, it's a problem position for us, could that be where he plays next season?

Still no Dallas on the bench, that's a concern for him.

Joffie playing at 10, thought he looked good, probably our best player. We really need to find his best role this season.

Joseph and Bate looked good.

Gray has a nice powerful shot on him, not unlike his grand uncle.

Clearly we need to add some quality players.

Perspective really is what’s needed here, that’s for sure. We are all clamouring for these kids of ours to save the club. Why? Because the first teamers Orta and co. assembled were nothing like good enough. Therefore we look to what’s left on the playing roster as salvation.

Normal clubs select only the very, very best of their youth and introduce them to the first team gradually, nurtured alongside seasoned pros. And over a period of time.

The way Leeds are doing it is all wrong and destined for failure. We will end up spoiling our youth players by throwing them into the team and inevitably under the bus.

We desperately need a cohort of seasoned pros, with championship experience, to bring our kids on. And not expect promotion first time of asking either.

Only saw the second-half.

Scum's kids technically better than our children & old-timers all over the park.

Only Joseph impressed upfront.

Nice shot from young Gray,

Pascal still making the same old elementary errors.

Oh well, a good workout.

TRUST IN FARKE.

I’m sure he would but we seem to be skint judging by the odd contracts we had written up last season and the season before.

Exactly that! We have just been relagated down to the championship. It's a friendly against a top club. The manager needs these matches to see exactly what is available to him and how the rest of the players gel eg. :duno:

Same old same old. Lack of creativity and poor in defence especially second half. First half we had a couple of decent counter attacks, Rutter looking useful on the turn with a couple of nice thru balls. Sini & Coops showing their experience and quality and our best players first half for me. If we can keep hold of Sini and keep him fit he will be a real asset this season. I thought Hjelde looked comfortable once he settled down. The only player i was disappointed with first half was Greenwood considering his first team experience. I just don't get the lad.

Second half we looked all over the place really as they upped the pace and precision. Joseph being my standout player despite playing on the left wing. I thought he carried the ball forward with purpose. I thought Bate was steady enough ad the lad Moore? carried the ball forward like Ben White at times but still looks raw defensively. Pascal carried on from last season with a good interception and then losses it and we conceded. Dramah at lb didn't work for me and the less said about the keeper the better.

In saying all that a good workout for the boys.

Didn't see the game but going by reports on here I'm totally baffled. Some guys saying this player or that player did well then the next post says the same players were poor and did nothing.

Oh and the usual suspects already on the players backs in the first game of pre season, get a grip and go support some other team.

Well put.

Link below (not quite sure how to post these here?) confirming PGA Tour golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas are part owners of LUFC, as part of the 49'ers investment group. Apparently Rickie Fowler not included as was originally reported.

Maybe they can give free lessons to some of our old guard to keep them busy and not on the football pitch??

I didn't see any of the game due to the Mrs dragging me on a 4 day slog around the shops. Thanks for the comments on the game. It gives me a better idea how the team is developing.

It's early doors and the squad isn't up to full strength, pace, as well as gelling to Farkes system and tactics.

After our first friendly outing a knee jerk reaction isn't the way one supports a team developing to life in the championship. Patience is required as Farke takes control of things on the pitch as the new owners slowly reveal their true intentions of whether they want Leeds at the top, or just the potential income generated by LUAFC.

I still think that the two most crucial new additions should be a creative MF and a striker. A holding MF might well be needed if the defence isn't watertight, but at the moment creativity is a concern. This year is all about consolidation and squad development, whereas next season I expect a determined challenge for promotion.
If you don't know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.

We could do with buying a load of new posters and sell off the negative haters.... But they're probably not worth much.. What were the mods and admin thinking,
