His more natural role at Swansea was coming from deeper to arrive late. How he scored at Ipswich. Joel can also play up front, but we need players from midfield to score and he likes to come from a deeper position. Needed a pacy striker in behind like Rutter to push them back.

From watching clips he is right in the sense that Piroe does drift.

But it is more like Bamford used to than actually being a 10 imo.

I think he should be 9 then you let him drift and pull players out of position for runners to exploit.

Don't think this system with him behind Rutter will get the best out of him.

Going by the highlights only I'd say that Leeds after 5 games aren't easy to beat, but also haven't quite worked out how to win.

Losing Sini means another player or two needs to fill his boots by weighing in with goals and assists. Until then Leeds are draw specialists. Good news for the punter, but not so good for climbing the table towards those end of season places.

Why give the captaincy to players who have been at the club the longest?

You have to remember we've gone two years hardly winning any matches and constantly conceding goals. It takes time to rebuild the confidence in the team and get a winning mentality back. It's better to start slowly and finish stronger, than start strong and fade.

Have to agree with this. We missed many opportunities to play forward ball because the default seems to be backwards or lateral ball. Often these were played behind the target which slowed it down even more. I know Shackleton was well out of position today and worked very hard, but his accuracy in passing is not great. Could just be over cautious but it kills momentum.

I thought the Shacks did well on Sat Boo. The lad Spence looks like he will be a livewire hopefully the type of player to drive things forward quicker. Playing it backwards and side to side is not going to change anything when we do eventually move the ball up field. We may aswell be braver on the ball and not waste time with that nonsense. It also takes the sting out of the crowd who like wave attacks to get them up for it.

I think there have been moments of this here and there but more of it at times could help unlock things with a team sitting back. However, wonder if DF is intentionally having the CBs hold back a bit more than he might normally like given the defense frailties he inherited? Could be we see more of the CBs being let off the leash as the team gels more and DF becomes more comfortable with the defense.

Amps is capable of slotting in their Ash if the space opens up in Midfield for the CB. I remember under Bielsa at times the opposing CB used to stroll through midfield sometimes nearly to the edge of our box. Rodon & Struijk both have that abilty.

Spot on mate, this lot go backwards & sideways more than Adam Forshaw did in his pomp!

No urgency, lack of movement from our so-called pacey forwards without the ball, sloppy passing & wayward shooting when we eventually took on a shot.

We created three of Wednesday's chances ourselves, sloppy passes from Gray & Rodon gave the owls one on one opportunities, thankfully Meslier & Spence came to our rescue or else it could quite easily have been a similar scoreline to the last time we played Sheff Wed at ER in 2018/19.

There were times when Gnonto & Ayling were in bags of space, but Meslier does that little routine where he pretends to throw the ball three times, by the time he finally distributes the ball, the options have gone. Rodon, Struijk & Meslier spend much of their time passing the ball around the back, like Reading did at ER a few years ago, getting absolutely nowhere but, in trouble in the end, both Gray & Rodon almost handed the Owls a lead due to p*ssing about as did Drameh & co messed up at the back at Portman Road. Our defenders need to realise, there's a reason why they are plying their trade in the championship.

So frustrating, annoyed our crowd immensely, bored me to tears to be honest!

I remember the reading game it was pointless play. Dare i say it a bit of headless chicken Marsch ball around their box will help. I do feel the club are on the right path with the window. I feel its more team orientated without Orta having to provide the staring role and provide a superstar on a budget. Who knows what pot of gold remains at the end of the rainbow.. Yes, just like that. I would like them to take greater advantage of those holes when they open up, especially if the opportunity presents itself. I have every confidence in Ampadu sliding in for coverage when needed or for another outlet pass.
