Gnonto may be an option early no space to run into with the back 5 ,he has better close control.

Fck me DF you need to get them in, and bring them out 2nd half pushed up and put them on the back foot.
I'm not enjoying this at all.
Let's see what he can come up with

0-0 is a bonus after that halfClitheroe White wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 8:50 pm How are we still at 0-0. They should have scored by now. Jack Clarke a real threat!!
They've been better than us

Sunderland the better side, playing to their strengths.
We aren't
James having to work his ass off to cover behind him meand he is left fighting for 50/50 balls going forward.
Spence with a case if the Ailioskis meaning Jimmy and Rutter aren't seeing enough of the ball and Struijk time and again being forced to go left. Spence will get up to speed but his passing is poor.
Lucky to go on 0-0 after a good start.
Tempting to yank Gray after his yellow

Makes sense and then we will see what spence can bring. Also bring Gnonto on that wing and we cause more threat.
That could pull Clarke back deeper with need to defend.

Played well in patches but Sunderland have edged it, we need to make the ball stick and it’s not atm.

Well the answer shouldn't be Ayling...Orange Box wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 8:47 pm They’re coming thru our middle now because Ampadu has dropped much deeper to help Archie out with Clarke. DF needs to look at this for the second.

Re: Sunderland v Leeds Utd Match Thread
We were the better team for the first 25 minutes or so. Sunderland didn't have a sniff. But we're lucky not be 2 down now. Good saves from Meslier and the Rodon/Strujik clearance.
Need to change something here.

Felt in control for the most part but other than the first few minutes created nothing of note defo need to step it up in second half - feels a bit too tense for my liking.

Just seen the replay. I’m sticking with swatting flies. His reflex save was actually JoRo heading the ball into Mesliers kidney area. Once again Meslier seems happy with pinball in his 6 yard area.
