Re: RIP To Those Departed
We're at a funeral of a friend & a member of the LUSC East Yorks branch in Sewerby at midday.
I've known Roger for 24 years, a real character, he always had a story to tell & full of jokes.
Roger travelled to Wembley with us, had a nice conversation with him & the good times we shared together, he spoke about his recovery from cancer, unfortunately the dreaded disease caught up with him since & the play-off final was the last Leeds game he attended.
Condolences to Diane & his family of Leeds fans.
RIP Roger.

Very sad news about Dame Maggie Smith. Utterly brilliant she was.
Most famous for Downton Abbey and the Harry Potter films, I loved her best in the two movies she made with Michael Palin, The Missionary and, particularly, A Private Function. She was great, also, in Tea With Mussolini.
She will be missed.

Keeping Mum as the murderous housekeeper is one of my favourites. Ladies in Lavender is another. So many great performances. Oh and if you haven't seen The Lady in the Van, the true story of a woman who parked her van in Alan Bennett's drive and stayed there, then you shouldJohn in Louisiana wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 2:19 pm Very sad news about Dame Maggie Smith. And at number 1 is the movie that kicked off Downton - Gosford Park, a brilliant murder mystery.
