It took us the following calendar year to even come close last season.

Leeds, Burnley & Sheff Utd are the only teams to lose one game in the top eight.

Leeds, Burnley, Norwich & Bristol City are unbeaten in their last six games.

Leeds & Sunderland are the highest scorers.

Burnley (4) & Sheff Utd (5) have the meanest defences.

Watford (8th) have lost four of their last six matches.

Norwich (5) & Bristol City (6) have drawn the most matches.

This time last season, we had lost two matches after twelve games.

Our 13th game was the dreadful away defeat at Stoke.

Next week we play Plymouth, hopefully our only defeat against Burnley still stands come next Saturday.

Still close to acquiring two points a game, which should see us win promotion.

Sunderland have had a lot of lucky breaks with goals recently, I expect that to even out soon, so the gap will close.

Got to face the bottom half teams now, but those are the ones we struggle against, especially as they will be parking the bus. Need at least 10 points from our next 15, I expect us to lose at some point too.

There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to match that sort of run but even without it I feel just a good consistency and we will be all right. If you take that run of 14 games then there must have been a defeat in the game prior to it and the game at the end of it so really in the larger picture it was 2 defeats in 16 so the key may just be to keep defeats to a minimum and spread them out. Win 3, draw 1 and lose 1 out of every 5 matches and it is still a 2 point average,

Also my family up north east are sunderland season ticket holders, they admitted we deserved to bet them and are expecting the wheels to come off any time soon as theyv'e been scraping by.

Worth noting that after 12 matches last year we were 3rd in the table, same as now, but we were 11 points behind Leicester and 6 behind Ipswich who also had a game in hand on us (which they won so effectively we were 9 points behind them). So whilst we are only 1 point better off at this stage than we were last year at this stage we are 6 points closer to 1st place and 9 points closer to 2nd place than we were.

So the surprise team this season is Sunderland. If we are to finish top 2 we need to start putting away our goal chances. Who is going to score 20+, who else is going to score 15+

This is the big question without doubt, you are correct, we need to put more of our chances away, games we should have won so far and dropped points because of lack of finishing

Very much doubt that will happen though, historically we don't do business in January, and if we do it's bad business, DF is another who dosen't like to upset the apple cart.
I want the hierachy to get some talent in ready for next season but that won't happen either, meaning if we do get promoted, we will 100% struggle with what we have.
