Re: Preston North End v Leeds United Match Thread
We showed a bit in the last couple of minutes
Referee has been poor from the 1st minute. Let a lot go for them. I was actually surprised when he gave the first yellow.
But we have little purpose about us. Too much indifferent football. I get that it's the same we play home and away. But when we're away, the opposition are more fired up, their crowd is fired up. They have a lot more purpose in their attacks.
We look like the better footballing side. But PNE deserve to be ahead, probably more than 1 ahead.

Rolly-polly Osmajic on the ground clutching his face.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 1:11 pm The ref has lost this. Osmajic is a good player but what a twat.

Can leave the part in bold out and be even more correct. What’s the stat? 80% of his production comes from off the bench? He’s our super sub.Johnthewhite wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 1:14 pm We cannot start Piroe without another striker, it just doesn't work

Can barely bring myself to watch this second half, might as well watch the first one again for all the difference we are likely to see

Turn the tv off. You know the result.
70 minutes. Send the lot on. Fails.
1-0

Because they know this is the way to beat us. Would love to see us tear the cheating bar stewards to bits in the second half but can't see it - we know this pattern.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 1:18 pm Thing is Preston can actually play, so why do they insist on being thugs?

The first fifteen minutes Piroe made a few runs into space between their defenders but we chose to recycle the ball and the opportunity passed by

Piroe's one man fan club claiming he hasn't got the service
Ludicrously tapped a FK into the wall
Ambled towards their keeper once - keeper kicked it into the stands, and Piroe wasn't even putting pressure on
One lobbed pass into area - Piroe allowed keeper a free catch instead of pressuring him
It's been a lazy game from him again. Just waiting for something to happen.
Hope he turns it around and scores. But that was a poor first half from him.

The Bielsa period was overrated. I wish we'd stuck with Hecky instead.

I'm mostly in favour of the way we play. But at key moments there has to be more purpose and bite.

He's right to an extent but neither did Joseph last week. We don't have a 10 (or 8 for me) and that will cause problems all season. We're shoehorning Aaronson who's busy and chaotic but lacks vision or creativity.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 1:31 pm Piroe's one man fan club claiming he hasn't got the service

Farke's narrow "patient" football not helping at all...
Whiteman subbed off, clever.
