Please. It was only Cardiff.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:13 pm Great result, im sure our confidence was already pretty good but this will up it another level.![]()
How long before someone trys to play it all down by saying it was only Cardiff![]()
Of course they were unbeaten in their last nine.
Next up are Coventry who have won four straight. Always seem to be catching opponents in fine run of form.

A “never in doubt” game is a joy. Not every week mind you. Be no doom & gloom then.

One game I can think of for comparison was when we beat Sheff Weds 6-1 in the title season. That was a fun game to be at.

He was actually really good today. Two good saves. But sweeping up and coming out of his box he was really good too.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:00 pm One of the fellas near me was moaning about Meslier for some reason![]()

All good runs end somewhere. Especially when you come up against a really good team.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 6:15 pm Please. It was only Cardiff.![]()

The fact that Cardiff were on a good run might have worked against them today and maybe they came into the game with a bit too much confidence. All to our benefit.

Fantastic performance in all regards and credit where credits very much due..... Farke made some really good tweaks. Did anyone else notice Piroes massive change in positioning today? Coming deep to get on the ball then turning and passing to the overlapping runners? Must have had more passes today than in his last 5. Brilliant adaptation that. Best game this season so far and reminded me of a similar type of thing that we had last season with Rutter.
Enough of one player though what really impressed me what the side before self kick started by James..... Could of took that shot on and no one would have moaned, instead played the certain goal pass for Aaronsson and it carried on from there.
My only gripe would be that Kinnear can say look at this scoreline why do we need to add a 10 or a striker..... (Which I think could hurt us in event of injuries to piroe or aaronsson).
Massively happy though, faultless game from the lads. Mot.

Re: Leeds Utd v Cardiff City Match Thread
I think Piroe's positioning was down to the way Cardiff set up. It was a recognition that there was so much room for James and Solomon to run into. As such, Piroe was able to be more of a false 9 and allow the wingers to get into the advanced attacking positions. Wouldn't be surprised if that changes in the next game. And wouldn't be surprised to see Piroe have another stinker. But I am pleased to say he was really good today.ElKapitan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 8:15 pm Fantastic performance in all regards and credit where credits very much due..... That's some achievement. I started around 1979and didn't start going to games until 10 years later.
