Certainly helped vs Sheffield United.

As you say many off it.

That assist from James hide the fact he only hit 8 accurate passes all game and only hit the target with 1 of 5 shots and 1 of 7 crosses.

Aaronson had yet another poor performance, I know some think he gets harsh criticism but it's now 1 goal 0 assists this year (11 games) he's played almost all the minutes in that time.

Solomon now 3 games without a goal or assist.

James, Aaronson, Solomon and Piroe have done really well as a group recently but they've played a lot of football this year already.

I think freshening up the front line earlier could have helped.

Ramazani seems to be an after thought atm but he's direct and positive.

Maybe, Farke doesn't trust Ramazani defensively in what was a basketball match, so he kept with the Bogle/James & Firpo/Gnonto partnerships down the flanks.

Not saying Farke was playing for a draw, but I think he was fearful that we could concede all three points. I was apprehensive, as were many fans around me.

James is quick and direct, they're his strengths. Didn't look quick today, maybe super fast FB, maybe tired legs but he couldn't get in behind. Ramazani is also direct but then there's flair. Solomon slower, cleverer, great vision. Bit like Summerville though in that he has a "move" he relies on

Gnonto is loaded with flair, vision, strength and pace. Probably the best of the four. Crosses well. usually makes the keeper work when shooting. He's twice the player on the right than left

That would be my take on events too. The point today meant that even with Sheff U winning we are 3 points ahead of them and with our superior goal difference it means that they are now at more than 1 win behind us. If we'd lost then Sheff U would now be a win away from re-taking top spot.

The pitch invasion & the aftermath spilled over into the following week on Yorkshire Television.

Many fans were escorted off the pitch by the police, including an old codger, it wasn't me, as I was a teenager then.

Look at the state of the playing surface then, in comparison to what it is now.

The WBA goalie Jim Cumbes played cricket too if I remember, think he landed at Lancs in the end?

Farke has his reasons, he knows better than anyone on social media.

He gets it right more times than wrong.

We've gone 17 games unbeaten & because we didn't win, our fan base goes into meltdown.

Yes definitely better to look at the result in the overall picture than just as an isolated result. That said even as an isolated result it isn't too bad considering it wasn't a great performance. I would rather give credit to WBA for doing well. Our performance doesn't concern me unless we continue to play like that for a few matches. The best teams, even in their pomp, don't win every match and don't play brilliantly every match, just a case for me that we add the point to our total and w are slightly closer to any total needed. We have played some scintilating football at times recently, matches where the flicks works, the ball falls for us etc so this type of match was bound to happen at some point.

I’ve not noticed the Great Overreacter comment yet.
Surely the doom & gloom has set back in.
We didn’t strengthen. We need a 1, 4, 5, 9 & 10.
Funnily enough that is my chinese order from last night.

And so we hit the part of the season where we see what Leeds can do against the championship also rans a period last season that led to results like a 4-0 loss to QPR a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield a draw with Watford and a 1-0 loss to Blackburn - this last period whilst not filling me with dread does give me a bit more concern than many other fans - it’s a minefield of dirty tactics, time wasting, deep defending, counterattacking and more general skullduggery. We have put ourselves in a good position but it’s gonna be tense I think.

Another sublime cross from James from the left flank for Firpo's goal. Dan started the match really well.

Back to the rewatch for me.

I'm pretty sure the likes of Ramazani, Gnonto and Joseph will see more minutes against the 'lesser' sides in the coming weeks.
As others have said, DF was worried about conceding a second yesterday so decided to stick rather than twist.
Aaronson definitely needs a rest and James probably does as well as they are the two who hardly ever get taken off.

Half-time review.

Great work & cross from James for Firpo's delcate header.

Apart from Junior's goal, I'm unsure why he is getting such high ratings in our poll, going from his first-half display.

Aaronson not as bad as some made out.

Struijk had a very good 45 minutes apart from that stupid irresponsible foul outside our box. Think about it Pascal, we're not that great in the air against big units. You are the captain, FFS!

Bogle & Tanaka didn't get close enough to their markers for their goal, giving Furlong all the time & space to loop his header into our net. Extremely poor defending, it's criminal to leave men unmarked at set-pieces, happened two or three times, yesterday.

Anyone not happy with 7 points from the last 3 games need their heads rattled. Maybe having beaten SU & Sunderland we got carried away and expected an easy win yesterday but we got our eyes opened to what could lie ahead.

Agree that we need to start using the squad more and rest the likes of Aaronson, James & Solomon for a start but we shouldn’t be throwing on all the bench players in one go as we seen what happened v Millwall in the cup. There could be a lot of dour, hard fought games to come before the end of the season so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

The dreaded lunchtime KO once again resulted in a performance that whilst acceptable never hit any heights and to be honest a draw was probably the most we deserved.

For WBA old man Bartley will never have had an easier game and the introduction of Joseph should have happened way earlier and it was definitely a game where Farke should have started him. Especially as Piroe floated around all match only occasionally touching the ball 40 yards from goal whilst offering zero actual threat.

What it probably shows though is that we're a striker short with Farke being reluctant to start both Piroe and Joseph due to then not really having an option from the bench.

To be fair to Piroe, he had a very tidy game, some lovely touches the fewest errors out of all them. Apart from his first-half chance where he should have put his boot through the ball or even made a simple pass to the unmarked James, he didn't have a sniff in front of goal.

Joseph only had one golden moment with the run & shot that hit the bar in the 22 minutes he was on the pitch.

I thought we appeared more fluent & likely in the 15 minutes before the subs came on.

Credit to the baggies, they deserved their point.
