Leicester were the stand out team last season.

Also there were 4 teams going for the automatic places rather then just 3 this season.

Plus most of the top Championship players from last season were either promoted or sold to clubs in higher division.

So yes last season the League was stronger at the top end but this season it was very competitive at the bottom so maybe that balances things out a little ?

Leicester lost 11 times last season, while Burnley only lost 2 and had a 33 game unbeaten run. This year was harder as we couldn't drop many points.

It's impossible to say whether the division is better or worse. Suggesting it is worse is just opinion rather than anything that can be determined by fact. Some teams were better last year, some teams worse, Leicester lost 11 times despite winning the title but that show that the division was stronger or just that they were actually pretty weak and not as good as the top 2 teams this season? All depends on how you choose to read it but throwing it out as a blanket statement is just something that we have come to expect from Cjay.

I dont know why it matters at all which season is strongest. It matters who is best prepared for the next challenge which is substantial.
Looking back at previous Championship seasons and teams who are still in the PL.

16/17 Newcastle 94 pts 1st
16/17 Brighton 93 pts 2nd
17/18 Wolves 99 pts 1st
17/18 Fulham 88 pts play offs
18/19 Villa 76 pts play offs (Fulham relegated from PL)
19/20 Fulham 81 pts play offs (Bournemouth relegated from PL)
20/21 Brentford 87 pts play offs (Fulham relegated from PL)
21/22 Fulham 90 pts 1st
21/22 Bournemouth 88 pts 2nd
21/22 Forest 80 pts play offs
22/23 None (of course Burnley now back)
23/24 None
24/25 ???

A mixture of auto promotion & via the play offs.
Far more important is what happens afterwards especially with teams like Villa, Newcastle, Brighton & Brentford. And probably Wolves.
I think they have all flirted with relegation/bottom 6 at some point.
Fulham had a yoyo spell.
Forest positions since promotion 16th/17th/6th (currently).

The four teams in the playoffs have a huge difference between them points wise 3rd to 6th. I personally hope Sheffield United get promoted but if not I certainly don't want fat Frank getting up. Sunderland probably need another season but the play-offs are a minefield as we know only too well.
