Very important imo.

Easily our easiest on paper fixture for a good while.

Was scared he was going to step up for the penalty. Loved it when Nmecha stepped up & buried it.

Burnley look strong candidates, as well.

Solid performance largely.

Nice to see some bite in the team from Tanaka and Stach and Gudmundsson especially.

Lacking quality in attack but hopefully can be fixed with transfers.

Very pleased

Main gripe is Harrison clearly preferred to Ramazani, don't understand that at all.

Easily the best team in the first half. We weren't in the 2nd. Great that we scored against the run of play at the time. Great subs helped change the momentum back in our favour. Nmecha, Gruev, Harrison, Aaronson very worthy squad players and all contributed when they came on.

It would have been a missed opportunity if we hadn't won that.
Tanaka outstanding.
Ampadu, Stach and Struijk all very good as well.
It was must win for me... a loss or draw and we go to Arse then Newcastle lacking confidence and points on the board.

Burnley are in massive trouble, they've had a bad preseason

Am wondering if another outburst similar to Matteo’s occurred behind the scenes.

We needed that. Shows we belong ok, but also how even lower PL teams have serious quality, and can put us on the back foot.

Tanaka was superb, he’ll be targeted by the elite before long. Gird your loins 49ers.

Was worried Tanaka might be a little light weight. But he got really involved in the physicalty late on.

Harrison was preferred to Ramazani in preseason. Was pretty clear. Has more experience at this level. Might not have Rama's flair. But does cover the left flank from back to front. Happy to have JH around, especially with Gnonto ahead of him.

Pros:
We won
Defended well
Subs looked good
Atmosphere will be our 12th man

Cons:
Missing a Pablo/Raphinha/Solomon type
Players looked tired
If we're banking on James, then we're sadly mistaken
