Re: Brenden Aaronson
Brenden has been on a very good run of form in December. I don't think it's a coincidence that we are unbeaten over that period. He's had a couple of assists including the DCL goal today. And today I noticed that he was moving the ball quicker and not allowing the opponent time to hack him to death. Let's just hope he continues at this level.

Beat game today since he arrived that I remember.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 4:29 pm DCL's form is the talking point but is this the best version of Aaronson we've seen?
Needs to show more consistency though, can he do it for 1,2,3,4,5 games.
Felt he was very good today.
Some nice runs and control.
End product still iffy.

Re: Brenden Aaronson
He did play well today. Some lovely touches on the ball and in the mix whenever we were attacking.
I do still wish he could develop some composure on the ball when moving forward. He rushes himself needlessly, and I am sure would score more of the chances he gets if he would just take a second, look up and then pull the trigger.

Re: Brenden Aaronson
Brenden proves again why Farke picks him for the majority of our games.
I've been told many times by a friend of mine that Aaronson isn't a Premier League footballer.
Best moment - superbly well-taken goal.

Fair enough that he earned and got the goal by his smarts and endeavor against Manure and he was like a Duracell bunny again. However, there must be some stat somewhere on how many times he lost the ball

It's best not to ask about losing the ball and BA , he's one of the most dispossessed per 90 minute players in the league.PhoenixUnited wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 7:39 pm Fair enough that he earned and got the goal by his smarts and endeavor against Manure and he was like a Duracell bunny again. He has a purpose but he also has a pretty obvious ceiling.
He'd never cope at this level in a possession side.

Poor guy can't catch a break from some on here.
Aaronson's been arguably our best player over the last month - a run which coincides with the team's excellent run of form - and still some on here say "he gets dispossessed" or "he wouldn't be a decent player on some team that plays a different style of football."
Yeesh.
He's been excellent for us. He works his tail off and his level of play has been climbing steadily all year. Best player on the pitch vs. Scum.

Re: Brenden Aaronson
I think with Aaronsen it is a case of Farke figuring out how best to play him to get the best out of him. He has his bad points, as mentioned by a few, but also his good points. Farke though, similar to what he did with Firpo, is bringing the best out of him and making it so that his good outweighs his bad.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 8:14 pm Poor guy can't catch a break from some on here.

There were a couple of pieces of play that summed him up for me. One was when he chased back superbly, got to the point where he could win the ball but then got brushed away and their player carried on with the ball. That to me sums him up, nearly brilliant.
Fair play to him though he took his goal superbly. Similarly against Sunderland his assist for DCL's goal was excellent with him waiting, getting a crucial bit of space and playing it at the perfect time and into the perfect place. Hopefully it is a sign of things to come because if we start to see more end product from him then we have a very good player on our hands.

Two lovely goals from Aaronson, tonight.
Was that a gash on one of his legs when he was subbed?

Re: Brenden Aaronson
Someone asked the other day, how many times does Aaronson lose possession of the ball.
Brenden our MOTM lost the ball seven times.
His two superbly taken goals makes up for that poor statistic.

Re: Brenden Aaronson
Anyone know when Aaronson's contract is up ?
Could be worth an extension, if he keeps this form up and who knows has a decent World Cup,
the big clubs & Europe will come sniffing..... 25 mill could become 40-50.

Re: Brenden Aaronson
Have to admit I've done a complete u-turn as far as Brendan is concerned, I was never a fan from day one, I didn't dislike him just didn't like the way he played and found him incredibly frustrating, but since he was dropped before our poor run and then reinstated to coincide with our great run he has been our star player, he seems to be behind everything good that we've been doing , yes he still has his faults but his contributions are far outweighing the bad and he's really looking to be a very important player for us, I'm not comparing him and Rutter but i'm now accepting that to have players like them we are going to have to accept that losing the ball is also part of the way they play. I think he's so vital now that I wish and said at the time that Farke should have rested him for the Liverpool game especially after making so many changes as I reckoned he would be our best chance of beating scum having him 100% ready for that game.
He may have given the ball away 7 times last night as has been posted but he was easily man of the match and unlucky not to be the match winner in 2 massive games for us

I'm warming to him.
He's atleast becoming a threat now, running with the ball and took his goals well.
He does lose the ball a heck of a lot though.
I suppose it's ok if you aren't punished.

Re: Brenden Aaronson
But he probably wins the ball back as often as anyone on the pitch, I’d hate to play against him.
