Another coastal incident here in East Yorkshire.

This morning is a different picture as heavy snow has fallen & settled, hindering the RNLI rescue search.

Two days ago, we witnessed 40+ people losing their lives in a Swiss nightclub, due to idiots setting off sparklers/fireworks at an indoor value

Next, we'll hear walkers having to be rescued in treacherous/freezing mountain conditions.

These selfish idiots don't realise they are endangering people lives having to rescue them.
In joggers and trainers, as well

Massive indoor sparklers. What could possibly go wrong.
It was filmed being done in the same bar a year earlier.

And the bar owners claimed they had safety measures in place.

Stupidity helps cull the human race ...I guess we're obliged to "rescue" them though if possible. Maybe a finacial penalty would be a good idea.

The retired dentist was found on the ground on Grange Road in the Medway town, a mile or more from where he may have been hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene

Albert Matraxhiu, 28, of Edgware in north London, has been charged with death by dangerous driving, while Erald Paci, 29, of Chatham in Kent, has been charged with perverting the course of justice

The men, who police said are both Albanian nationals, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Friday

Too many crimes being committed by the waifs & strays we allow to reside in the UK, our prisons are overflowing with foreign nationals

Why don't we deport them? Brits wouldn't exist five minutes, committing criminal activity in certain countries

Modern Cars Are Constantly Telling You Off!

Post by Musicman1965 »

Hired a very smart 2025 Mazda to go from London down to Devon and the journey was miserable, rain, fog, road conditions, traffic are all to be expect especially in the winter. The car had button and levers everywhere and the dash looked like a fighter pilot display. How times have changed when cars were very simple. My gripe with this wonderful bit of technology is that took upon itself to warn me of everything. Car passing you on the motorway, light on the door mirror lights up, speedometer when have a fit if I went 1 mile an over the 70 mph limit, lane warning if I got to close to white line. Then it beeps at you to tell your fuel comsumption not to mention the seat belt ding ding which will not stop until you put the belt on. The centre screen has more tech in it than the space station.... You don't drive cars anymore they control you and if you do something it doesn't like it goes into full warning sulk mode... :)

If the grooming gangs were actually prosecuted and put in prison perhaps the reported percentages would be higher... but lets promote community cohesion shall we? That should keep the numbers down. We don't want to be seen as racist.

Not particularly interested in the Beckham drama but Brooklyn has gone in on what he calls basically his fame and image obsessed controlling parents. . . .

Given how David has grifted for decades to get knighted with his carefully controlled image can believe Beckham junior tbh.

Typical of the modern car - a pal of mine bought a new car 18 months ago and is still finding knobs, levers and buttons that he has no idea what they do.

I don't drive these days, I just steer, my wife drives.

You can disable all those things.
I hate the stop engine at lights thing. Always turn that off.
Also the white line warning. That isn’t safe.
I was passing a cyclist and straddled the white line to give room and the wheel turns the car back towards the cyclist. Of course I can still correct it but it’s quite firm in turning the wheel for you. Dangerous.

The red button in the centre of the gear knob is the passenger ejector seat.. :)

This post came in from popular Ryan’s Bar in Belfast, any wonder bars, cafes & restaurants are closing all over the country. We’re all going to hell in a handcart.

Our recent business rates revaluation has come in! 😱

Our annual rates have increased from £51,900 to £85,000 — a rise of £33,100, or 63%. (Despite this, we don’t even receive bin collections, so we also have to pay an additional £13,000 per year for waste removal.)

Our gas and electricity costs have risen significantly too, increasing from £28,000 in 2019 to £45,000 in 2025 — a 60% increase.

Last year, changes to National Insurance thresholds and rates, combined with wage increases, added £60,000 to our wage bill. While we did introduce some price increases, we absorbed a portion of these costs as it simply wasn’t realistic to pass them all on.

This April, our wage bill will rise by a further £25,000 per year.

At the same time, food and drink suppliers continue to increase their prices.

We’re proud to offer outstanding value, with two courses for £15, and we’re committed to maintaining that price point. Drink prices will have to increase but we aim to keep those rises to a minimum.

Thankfully, we remain busy, and for now the jobs of our amazing staff our safe.

We do, however, worry for other businesses facing the same pressures.

Support your pubs. Use them or lose them.

We look forward to welcoming you all and providing you with the best value we can in these difficult times in hospitality.

Eoropean Union Hiprocrisy 2026

Post by Musicman1965 »

After the UK has fallen fowl of the European Union Court of Human Rights we see another side of the European Union that to me sums them up. For years their court had the last say on issues that can be dealt with by the block members. UK is no longer a member but Human Rights laws still apply. Saying all this the European Union has just struck a massive trade deal with India a country that still has modern slavery going. In fact is probably the worst in the world today for actual human rights. Obviously this does not count when money is involved. Shame on you European Union.

A very broad and sweeping statement that is a matter of opinion.

Hard to see how India, "In fact is probably the worst........................" when all manner of countries do all manner of trading with others that you could point out as having apalling Human Rights issues couldn'tyou?
