I'll have a listen to those albums as I'm stuggling to find many new releases this year. I have my obvious favourite of '26, which is on constant play.

Dig by Mama's Gun (UK Soul)
New Soft Machine this year is good, the album is Thirteen
Keep an ear out for the UK's Jonson, Jonson and Jonson. Very seventies Philly sound.. Very little out there and I'm a little suspicious due to the lack of information

I've already mentioned The World is My Sun by Dominique Fils-Amie
Ratboys - Singing to an Empty Chair is excellent maybe should have been in that top ten.
Bill Callahan's My days of 58 is very good. The man who spent his childhood in the North Riding (aka Smog) is back with a very interesting listen

There's half a dozen more, I quite like Kevin Moreby's new one though I prefer earlier stuff

We await new albums from Blueneck, Sunstack Jones, among others

I initially recommended the Soft Machine album on here about three months ago.

Delines & Soft Machine are my two favourite albums this year, hopefully I can add a few more from your two lists, thanks

Callaghan's album received a rare 5 star rating in the Mojo magazine. Never been a fan tbh.
