Rodon has been playing more as a wing-back in the friendlies, often making runs down the right flank, his run & cross assisted our first goal vs Leipzig. Rodon also drops into his natural CB role when required & also covers Bogle's poor defending at times.Victor_OTT_17 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2026 4:03 pm Where have you gotten that information from because I just do not believe that!!!You do not take your fastest CB and turn him into a wing-back. Rodon will play in a more forward role using his pace down the right flank this season.

Yes, it’s very noticeable how far forward he is getting.1964white wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:39 pm Rodon has been playing more as a wing-back in the friendlies, often making runs down the right flank, his run & pass to Bogle helped create our first goal vs Leipzig. You’ll see it more when you get back in the stadium, a number of times he was galloping forward but never got the ball which I doubt was picked up by TV pictures.

Don't think it will see him become a wing back though1964white wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2026 5:39 pm Rodon has been playing more as a wing-back in the friendlies, often making runs down the right flank, his run & pass to Bogle helped create our first goal vs Leipzig. Wilder had his cbs doing this 10 years ago.
Not that unusual in modern back 3 systems.

I saw joe galloping back on a couple of occasions when the cameras picked him up.
Even the Bryn Law & Tony Dorigo are commenting on Rodon in forward positions (similar to Firpo used to).
I unsure what some on here are watching.

Aye it is just tactical fluidity, when we have offensive transition. You need pace and Rodon’s has that, he does a nice underlay past Bogle. Bijol moves across to his right and Amp drops into the sweeper role if we lose possession on occasion. It seems to work quite well so far and can only get better.

I'll be amazed if Bogle or Justin are benched to allow Rodon to play wing back this season.. most here were saying Bogle should have gone to the world cup...

Would imagine it's very vulnerable if you lose it though.

I think I posted up a comment what The Square Ball quoted & debated.
I personally think Justin is a more suitable option, who is far better defender.

On Talksport they mentioned Joe’s contract extension and that Elvedi had signed. The Club are previously yet to make a statement ?. Unless it is on another thread.

If Jo Rodon was not a footballer he might have been a Tattoo artist. He looks like one I used to know way back.
