A decent window overall 8/10:
Trafford - Brilliant signing
Tarik for Stuijk - Looks like a big upgrade
Elvedi and Bard hopefully decent cover
Wilson - Solid addition
Bahoya - Never seen him play but seems to have bags of potential, so hopefully an excellent signing.
No issue getting rid of Piroe, but gutted to lose Gnonto so I'm knocking a mark off for that.

The incomings improve the team and squad.
The outgoings needed to happen for different reasons and the clear out was extensive and pretty ruthless.

The two signings from yesterday we hope will be improvements but we don't know yet.
Still a little concerned we don't have an out and out striker as cover for DCL.
Happy with all the signings that were made before yesterday.

Forgot to add that both our loan signing are with pre agreed options to buy at fair and reasonable prices.

Incoming was great - outgoing ?? But without knowing the full picture I can only highlight that there is more of what we have seen previously. Arguably - in part - this is due to a lack of meaningful minutes. I see both sides of the coin around circumstances, but I am concerned that we have become a soft target in some regards.

Tough one - some positives and negatives.

Some great incoming players for me.

My negative perspective:

Whilst I appreciate selling players is not always easy, as fundamentally they need suitors willing to pay - but we have again struggled to offload many players unless under the guise of a ‘possible / maybe’ promissory bill of sale. We do have a continuous soft touch persona in this regard.

How successful we have been overall, will become more apparent as the season progresses, but it looks promising. The new kid with pace to burn ( which is one of the most expensive commodities) could turn out to be a gem.

Maybe, decent offers didn't come in from other clubs for the players we've sent out on loan.

Happy with incomings. would have liked maybe 1 more up top!

Outgoings mainly loans but should we be surprised? Why should we expect our average (ot attitude) players to command a cash purchase price? If they don't fire-on-all-cylinders for us, why should we expect teams to pay cash when they can have them rented and on trial for a season? I just think we are not good at this compared to other clubs.

Incomings:

Considering our budget we have spent wisely.

Some may argue we overpaid for Trafford and Tarik but having seem some of the transfer fees elsewhere it looks more and more likely we underpaid - and if they carry on performing as they have and improving then we have had 2 real bargains.

We have added competition for places with Elvedi and Wilson who are both comfortably good enough to start.

We have added cover with Zeferer and Bard. Don't know anything about them but they seem to have reasonable pedigree.

We then have the wildcard with Bahoya who could be amazing or a flop but it seem we have an option to make the deal permanent which puts us in the driving seat and seemingly rids us of any risk.

If we'd got a striker of a decent level then it would have been a 10 but I am not too fussed over that, though of course if injuries kick in then it could be of concern. However likely that we have put ourselves in a position where we could still sign someone in January if we needed to.

Outgoings:

We lost 2 starters from last season in Darlow/Perri and Struijk but given who we have signed then it is likely they would have been relegated to the bench. As such in the case of Struijk we probably have sold him at the right time as to leave it later his value would have dropped. Shame we couldn't have kept Darlow as we knew what we had with him - but given what wages he is likely to be getting at MU it could have really upset our wage structure if Darlow, as a back-up player, was getting higher wages than a starter.

The other outgoings were all fringe players and as such we have done well in shifting them. Yes we didn't get great returns in terms of money but that simply highlights that clubs weren't queueing up to buy our cast-offs. People will have differing opinions on the quality of those leaving, especially Gnonto but he has failed to make himself a starter in any of the last 2 season of which 2 were in the championship.

In windows past we have complained about us not getting rid of the deadwood so this time around we have done it so I give praise to the transfer team. They have found ways to get wages off the books and hopefully bring a bit of money in, even if just loan fees and some players come back to us.

Now to get Farke's contract sorted.

Agree somewhat about fees for offloading players no longer required but we acquired them at Championship prices and we're now shopping at a much higher level so we can't let that impede our progress.

That said in my opinion good money for Struijk & Gelhardt was achieved and whilst it's possible that Piroe and Ramazani do have to come back I'd say it's unlikely. Gnonto who knows but most would seem to prefer him to come back so guess that's not much of an issue.

Also Mateo Joseph still at the club to possibly fill the 3rd striker slot later in the season subject to his recovery.

Great post and with Gelhardt it shows that sometimes a loan out can work in our favour in terms of making our unwanted player become worth more. Likely if we'd have even got offers of £2m for Gelhardt on the 2 occasions he went out on loan to Hull we'd have taken them - instead we got considerably more.

Will be interesting to see how much playing time Gelhardt gets with Hull buying so many new players. My fear is that he will have slid right down the pecking order and hardly get a look in - and then possibly end up going out on loan in January

With Gnonto I think it is win win for both player and Leeds. If he does well then he likely either signs permananently for his loan club or has many more clubs interested in him (and hopefully thena bidding war) or comes back to us having shown he is ready to be a starter. If he does poorly over there then it backs up the point that he wasn't good enough for us and has meant he hasn't simply been picking up his wage here and not contributing much - or getting in the way of another player. We then try to offload him and he goes to a club where he can get regular playing time even if it is a case of dropping down considerably in terms of size of club he goes to.

went for 8 as brought in some quality as replacements to a team that finished 14th last season and we have maintained the balance, flexibility and hopefully the team spirit. i still worry about our striking department with 2 inconsistent and injury prone attackers with little cover. that remains our biggest risk area and hopefully we can get through to the next transfer window without suffering the consequences.

Noticeable that Struijk hasn't had any PL minutes yet for Brighton.

They gave him 45mins at 3-0 up against a minow in the UEFA Conference qualifier and that's it so far.

£18M for a bench player was decent business with only one year on his contract left.
